Gary used to tell interviewers that since he was working in nightclubs, he hadn't seen I Love Lucy. Well, a lot of people know that Monday nights, when Lucy was on, was the week's worst night for nightclubs, so bad that most didn't even open.

He married Lucy for her money. She was the richest woman in Hollywood. People called him "Mr. Lucille Ball." If anyone had ever dared to call Desi Arnaz "Mr. Lucille Ball" they would have received a black eye.

@@josephpanzarella1417 Didn't Gary offer to sign away any rights to Lucy's money before they married, of his own accord. I think that was in Lucy's own book. I think he really loved Lucy, the children always seem to speak well of him in interviews that I have seen, but to be fair I have only looked up a few of their interviews. Lucy was a very beautiful woman, Gary was a lucky guy.

Actually no Lucy very much consulted Gary on every decision that was made. She would often tell people when asked what she wanted to see what Gary thought. He says she always asked him for his opinion on all decisions, that she treated him like he was the man of the house. But yes she told him she wouldn't put up with cheating at all.
