Arlene was on the board for Bonwit Teller, which was an upscale department store in NYC (along the lines of a Neiman’s or Saks). That dress looks like an Hermés Passementerie print. She wore a lot of bold prints and fashion forward pieces on TV in the late 60s and early 70s, including mini skirts and even hot pants. Arlene did a lot of yoga and definitely had the figure to pull those looks off. She was even a muse for designer Arnold Scaasi at one point.
Yes! I recognized that print immediately! One of my favorite classic Hermès patterns. Arlene was always so chic! I've read that Dorothy Kilgallen was often considered the "best dressed"......like, for real?? Idk, maybe because DK was more mainstream or "relatable" in some way? Ms. Francis never shied away from the bold choice and that's what I relate to LOL! Her style also seemed to reflect her rather naughty wit, which I also can appreciate.
@@todddepue681 Miss Kilgallen was not with us after November 8, 1965. Styles changed drastically with the influx of the Beatles, British and European Courreges.
"...if you pause a moment and say thank you AS YOU WORSHIP WITH YOUR FAMILY" - A better world this would be if that reverence for God and family unity had not been cast aside.
Debbie, many of us have raised our families with Heavenly Father. Both my kids went to Christian school, and now our grandchildren attend. We are Blessed that we never denied the dimension of spiritual life and I could not live without my Jesus. 🙏🏼🇺🇸❤️
@@christinalw19 What a wonderful response! Yes, I know there are those, myself included, who hold dearly the values you expressed. Certainly I did not presume that ALL of humanity had rejected the Lord, and it blesses me that you have taken the time to address this! Thank you :-) :-) :-)
I would say that if the contestant had given the clue for "Angel" that he did (Gabriel) … If he had spoken the clue softly with his eyes looking upward (and imagining wearing a halo while saying it) .. I know that sounds funny, but I think Skitch would have gotten it.
