They did a couple of All Star Weeks with Tom hosting so that Tom could learn the game, and if he made any mistakes, it would be easier to make those mistakes with celebs instead of contestants.

Tom did a good job with Password Plus. I know that they first approached Bill Cullen, but he was not available due to his involvement with Blockbuster. I wonder what it would be like if either Wink Martindale or Geoff Edwards hosted Password Plus.
Geoff Edwards would take the job easily if he was more open-minded. And besides, Geoff done hosted a couple of word association game shows like 'Shoot for the Stars' and subbed for Bill Cullen on 'Chain Reaction'. AND if Geoff did get the job, then he would move on to 'Super Password'. Best feature with Geoff is that he makes any game show exciting with his strong and loud catchphrases. Sadly, he was underrated during his run as a game show host.
