@@AllisonPepper-dr9sb You say you don’t judge ships but then directly say it’s a ripoff 😭 Kunikida and Dazai have a very different friendship/relationship then Chuuya and Dazai, it’s a similar prompt but underlines very differently. Dazai and Kunikida have very different morals, even to the books they have in the first episode, one about how to live and one how to die. They’re direct opposites, unlike Chuuya and Dazai who is a pair. Both are respectable ships, but don’t act like one is superior simply because you don’t find it ship worthy. I don’t know if you’ve read Dazai’s entrance exam, buts it’s clear that they respect each other and Kunikida and Dazai bring out a side of each other that’s healthy. Kuni is allowed to let loose and due to Dazai being pretty reckless, he doesn’t have to follow his rules and books, and Kunikida clearly cares for Dazai, even checks up on him after suicide attempts. Even if you don’t ship them, they clearly care for each other.

If its abour experimentation OR the sexual abuse then that is all very very likely wrong. Abuse and manipulation exist in different ways, the way dazai was abused needs to be taken more seriously instead of adding more things to it. (The clip of dazai being stripped to the chair is him after a suicical attempt, he was tied to be protected from himself ig? Mori manipulated a vulnerable kid)

Although I'm NOT excusing abuse), I only wish Asagiri would reveal more about Dazai's past, relationship with M0ri, his family(as he isn't orphan) and the teason for his attempt of suicide that made him meet Mori as a doctor.
