There's a lot of good choices on this. Personally, I don't really like getting into arguments about whether something is too low in the rankings or not. For me, the whole list should be about celebrating the music included as a whole. If anything, if the list inspires someone to check out Led Zeppelin or if it convinces someone to give a someone like Madonna or Britney Spears a chance, it did its job.

My other 4 favourites are Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, Absolutely Free by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Loaded by the Velvet Underground and Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan.

I'd have more truck with this list if it was prefixed with 'In no particular order'.

From what you don’t know I highly recommend: Another Green World by Brian Eno, The Wonderful/Frightening World of The Fall by The Fall, Hoisana Mantra by Popol Vuh, Pornography by The Cure, You’re Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr, Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement, Soundtracks For The Blind by Swans (and yes you’ve heard them before on patreon but I guess forgot), In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, by Neutral Milk Hotel (you’d love them), Out To Lunch by Eric Dolphy (Zappa loved him), Deceit by This Heat (similar to Wire, you’d like them).

I had that Eno album on Cassette. Ha! Cassette! I’m old. A neat album. I wasn’t so sure about his vocals when I first got it. Now I love ‘em. Popol Vuh. Great 70’s whatever it is from Germany. Thanks! ✌️🙂🎻😎

for me if l had to choose 1 album to keep out of 300 l know very well l would pick my all time favorite album KISS ALIVE from 1975 hand's down.

Blood on the tracks is the greatest album of all time for me. It breaks my heart and mends it together later on. I hope Bob has another album in him. Rough and Rowdy Ways was incredible.

If there's one album on this list I would recommend that you may have not heard it's American Water by Silver Jews, Larry. In my top 30-40 all time. Fantastic. I also have to recommend The Glow Pt.2 from The Microphones, especially if you like Pink Moon from Nick Drake. So I guess that's two albums 😂 Oh, and the Deerhunter album on here...Halcyon Digest is fantastic.

Not the worst list I've seen, but I do agree that certain albums should be way higher! 👍xxx.

Solid choices. Fairly reflective of a contemporary ranking where you see less emphasis on classic rock from 60s-70s. Many of these newer albums from 90s and 2000s are great picks if you get to know them. Even for a top 300 list, keep in mind that we are talking about 5 albums per year on average, so there are still going to be disputes. I am very surprised that Ok computer, dark side of the moon and thriller are outside the top 100. That’s crazy, and im not even a big fan of ok computer or thriller. The beatles are the greatest, but i dont necessarily think that they made the greatest albums. I always see them as more of a songs band than an albums band. I honestly find it lazy whenever you look at typical lists back then and you see multiple albums by the beatles, bob dylan, rolling stones etc at the top of “older lists”, and as a result taking attention away from other great artists and albums. It is refreshing to see the likes of milton nascimento and lesser known artists being all the way up - rather than just rehashing the same lazy picks

Watched this video last night. Some headscratchers on the list.

You should listen to The Grey Album by Danger Mouse. It’s a mash-up of The Beatles’ White Album and Jay-Z’s Black Album that was never officially released. McCartney was all for it and it’s a lot of fun!

The 3 early Cure albums between 1980 and 1982 are all great in my opinion. Faith in particular is very sad but Pornography, the one that appeared on this list is the darkest. One Hundred Years is phenomenal. Also Disintegration is number 1 for me that album is perfect. Also Neutral Milk Hotel is pretty great too, it's quite weird lyrically in places but I think musically it's really good and the instrumentation is lovely too.

I was waiting in vain for Genesis Phil Collins ELO Bee Gees Wings Moody Blues Toto Level 42 Yes ABBA XTC Roxy Music King Crimson Chris De Burgh Chicago Dire Straits Elvis Presley Elvis Costello Alan Parsons 10cc Barry Manilow Indochine Jordsjø Le Orme Charley Pride Frank Boeijen Kim Larsen At least there were some Elton John REM Sparks Paul McCartney Tatsuro Yamashita was unexpected. I did not expect any Japanese City Pop.

I always find rankings pointless Larry because it's all down to personal choice,if you had any kind of ranking about anything with ten different people you would have ten different lists,it's a totally pointless endeavor... unless it's Larry Graves doing the rankings! Bob

This list is interesting to say the least some of the choices are questionable but overall not bad my top 10 is very different I would go with 10 led zeppelin 4 9 van Helen 1978 album 8 Starz violation 7 Ted nugent 1975 album 6 Black Sabbath sabbath bloody sabbath 5 Robin trower bridge of sighs 4 Neal young after the gold rush 3 the beetles white album 2 Creedence Clearwater Revival green river and my number 1 pick for greatest album of all time I go with never mind nirvana I know that’s an odd pick but it’s definitely one of the greatest albums of all time

I'm a huge fan of both The Cure & Kate Bush & both albums picked in the upper echelon of this list are excellent but not deserving of the high placement. Like On The Beach ⛱️ being highly ranked.

I get that the people coming to this channel are mostly into rock music and music surrounding that genre, but if it’s best albums of all time they can’t just have that.

It was better than the Apple Music list but that's not saying much.

I love Alvvays but having an album that isn’t even 2 years old ranked above so many classics is ridiculous to me.

I think the White Album should have been at the top. And Where is Springsteen's "Darkness at the Edge of Town"??? That album was better than "Born to Run". Just my opinion.

Seeing Sparks at 138 was super cool! But it was a bogus list: The Beatles being as low as it was and not enough of their albums on this list is one thing, but TOOL not being on this list means the list is all wrong! What's PASTE'S criteria for their rankings? Geez!

Ok Larry im counting how many i have on cd as you go through.... 15 in top 300 42 in top 200 79 in top 200 Id say like all top album lists its not a very useful one. Im missing out on Britney Spears?!!... lol. Felt like a list which wasnt researched very well ...a bit dare i say....bland overall.

Nothing by the Kinks or the Jam. Pretenders first album. Plastic Ono Band, All Things Must Pass !!!!!!! Bah! Oh and by the way, you'd probably like Wilco and Sufjan Stevens or some of it at least.

Again a list too varied for its own good. Far better than most though. Some good "modern rock" and "indie" gems in there. Enough that I've written down some of the bands I don't know to try them out.

I watched the 'Tastes Like Music' reaction to this list as well. This Paste ranking is a terrible one. Its as if they threw a dart at a chart on the wall and chose the album the dart landed on. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Cheers.

This list is light years better than Apple's, but that's not saying much: "D'Angelo" (???!!!) better than "Rust Never Sleeps", "Are you Experienced" and "Dark side of the Moon" ???

Not one Kinks album? Any list without Village Green Preservation Society in the top 20 is invalid. Who’s Next,LA Woman, Every Picture Tells a story, Layla not on the list at all. Terrible

One wonders whether classic rock or rock in general is going to die. These lists seem to indicate they will in less there is some type of revival. Only one Who album No Grand Funk Railroad , Creedence , Cream , Grateful Dead , The Guess Who , Alice Cooper , Jefferson Airplane , Living Colour ect. Don't bother getting angry. All of these lists are going to suck. My favorite album of the 2000's was The Shins Chutes Too Narrow. This would make my top 10. 😥😥
