Apologized and then asked for 20, 30, 40%. He wasn't sorry and his facial expression and nonchalance speaks volume, you don't need any spiritual gifts to see through. He knows most people see him as God.
Giving is a principle of life, the whole of creation is built to give, that's what a seed means and does, in whatever percentage you decide, we ought to give as a principle of life. We give as individuals, we give as a family, whatever association you belong to, you give to it, it's how life is meant to be lived.
Anyone who teaches tithe should first understand the two orders of the Bible-Hebrews 7:11 the order of Aaron is from Exodus 19 till the Cross (death and resurrection of Jesus) and the order of Melchizedek is from Genesis 1-Exodus 19 then after the resurrection. The order of Melchizedek came long before the Law. Abraham, Jacob tithed about 500 years before the law of Moses. Jesus, David, Abraham, and the church came in the order of Melchizedek and we should tithe. Tithe is the Lord’s not in the Old Testament or New Testament. Tithe is Eternal. Leviticus 27:30. The Bible was talking about Offerings not Tithes, this is misleading and confusing people all in the name of wealth smh it’s a big shame those people don’t understand their Bible.

Can we make it to God's paradise with any form of disobedience. "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone." Matthew 23:23 (KJV). What is the other thing here that should not be left undone after we have lived a life full of mercy and judgement as commanded by Jesus. It is the paying of tithe. Did Jesus condemn paying of tithe? Absolutely no. However, living a life full of mercy and grace and faith in Christ authenticates our giving as true children of God. (2Cor5:17). When you are quarreling with your brother, the Bible encourages us to leave our tithe/offering at altar and go to reconcile with our brother and then come to offer unto the Lord. Salvation is a gift of God's grace, not of works. Yet we are sternly enjoined to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, (whatever He says to you, do it). I may have been gifted a car by my father but the responsibility to keep it in shape and make it worthwhile is on me. Tithe before the the law, tithe during the law or tithe after the law remains tithe. If being legalistic about it will help me to be faithful towards God as a form of appreciation for His love and lavishing provisions, so be it. MR THEOLOGY & PROFESSOR BIBLE EXPOSITOR. Baba Adeboye is throwing a curved ball. Serious Christians would abide by God’s rules. This is holiness. Paying tithes is holiness. Without holiness no man can see God. Hmnn.. Some would be sneering, but understand what he is saying. Your tithes should be more if you want dominion. God would grant you understanding.
My brother there is no curve way of saying the truth. It doesn't matter if it affects people or not. Jesus spoke many Truth that offended the people. There's no better way to speak to The Truth than speaking
All Glory be to God in the highest for the confession. However, Beware! "Ten percent should be for beginners" is not biblical. There's nothing like that in the scriptures, the scripture says give without grudges, give willingly. "Giving should be violently"(whatever that means) has nothing to do with matt.11:12. We don't go to heaven because we give violently(whatever giving violently means). Again the scripture says don't give grudgingly but cheerfully. "You want to be the one who will control finances, you are going to go far beyond 10%" is not biblical. There's nowhere such formular is given or such thing is promised, we are told to give cheerfully.
Not all pastors have the courage and the humility to practice restitution although they preach it. Daddy Adeboye is a humble man par excellence. But with due respect to our Dady in the Lord, giving offerings is different from tithes. Giving tithes is mandatory to all true believers in Christ. And it is the tenth percent of your earnings. Offering is any amount you give from the remaining 90%. Papa Adeboye doesn't owe anyone apology for the truth he had earlier declared about giving tithes. It doesn't matter the public outcry or opinion on the truth that he had told earlier. Paying tithes is part of holiness. Because it's obedience to the word of God. You can't claim to be holy and you will not pay tithes. And if you are truly saved and paying tithes, you will seek to live in holiness. Paying tithes can't be a burden to anyone who is genuinely born- again. It's rather a delight. God doesn't require tithes and offerings from sinners. They have to be saved first before paying tithes and offerings. That is why I doubt the salvation of those who are arguing against paying of tithes. Paying tithes and offerings and living in sin will land anyone in eternal hell. In similar vein, if you claim to be living in peace and holiness but you don't pay tithes, the word of God says that you are a thief. You're robbing God and under a curse. And under no circumstance, will anyone that is cursed (people like Cain, Judas Iscariot etc.,and thieves) make it to heaven. Their place is hell. So, true saints of God stick to the truth of the word of God and not the opinion of man. The word of God is our final arbiter. Our Dady was right on his earlier position on tithes. The devil is bringing confusion into the Church through satanic pastors parading themselves as agents of light. Let's have a discerning mind and let's keep up our Pastors especially overseers up in prayer to God. The enemy is seriously targeting them. May the Lord help our Papa and give him and other overseers the grace to maintain their conviction on the word of God and not on trending opinion of men and agents of darkness meant to destroy the church of God in Jesus Christ Mighty Name. Deception and cunningness. "... it's not in the Bible then again i shouldn't limit you to 10%....". Which should we believe now? The Bible says 10% and that is it. This is not an apology, but doubling down on an error….making things even worse for him. The root of the problem with Adeboye is that he does not believe that Salvation is only by Grace through faith in Christ Jesus. As a result of his error, he is able to use tithing as a weapon to milk and manipulate his fans/followers.

It is about what the Word of God says about Christian giving…… which Adeboye is not promoting. You are free to enjoy your error, because it makes you feel good. That story about someone who Tithed 90 after he started a business with $500, and then made million Dollars is a lie. He made that up! I am not being negative, but just trying to help you open your own eyes. Ask why anyone will say something like “if you are not giving tithes, you won’t enter heaven”. Adeboye calls Kenneth Copeland an apostle. That shows how much far he is from the Truth of Scripture.
Hope you will balance back some members their money and tithe back, especially those that blindly pay those tithes with the hope of making heaven at the end of the day when him and their household goes hungry
