Joel being camera man for 17 years is a bad example, because his Dad wanted him to step up much sooner. His Dad publicly expressed his disappointment that Joel wouldn't follow him as a preacher.

People should realize that tithing is for the old testament only. Not in the temple, but for the storehouse. The new testament says you should give ANYTHING you want from the heart, to a good cause. Be very careful who you give money too, especially if they have a stadium as a church. Find out what you're contributing to.
The Bible strictly warns about people like John that twist scripture. Wish him luck on judgement day explaining why he didn't preach Christ, but tickled peoples ears. He is loving his best life now because eternity won't be do great for him. Teach people to repent, not think it is all about themselves.
