Her voice is angelic and Heavenly. One can tell that she is singing from the bottom of her soul. Ms. L. Jones sing for the MASTER!! I FEEL THE HOLY GHOST. YES GOD!!
I was one of the original Joyful Noise Choir Members, before it came together as you see it now. I wasn't even trying to be in the choir, because I was already in Deaf Ministry as an Deaf Interpreter. But, back then it was Elder Donnie McClurklin saw me walking through the sanctuary at Perfecting West and said, "come here!" I was like, " but I got a cold" & he said, " you are a TENOR! Get in the tenor section!" FYI, even if I didn't have a cold my voice is still tenor when I spoke, cuz I got that from my mother, which is baritone-bass that can sing a beautiful perfect E. When Elder Donnie say "Get" you GET! LOL, OMG,We had to go through a few choir directors until we landed Beverly "Squeeze" Furgeuson. I tell ya, we were not good as a unit at all. Maybe some of us can sing ok as an individual, but as a group...(can we bow our heads and pray?) Perfected Praise Choir some not all would tease us at 8am service and called us "awful noise" because it wasn't anything Joyful about it. I think because of the friendly & no so friendly choir competitiveness of it all, Joyful Noise got tired of being laughed at, it put a fire under our butts. We learned, to become a unit, We did everything together & pray for one another and honey once we weeded out the slackers & got down to business... Pastor Winans started to take us out of town showing up equal and dare I say ( from what I've heard from others) better than Perfected Praise. After awhile Pastor was "Papa proud" introducing Joyfulllllll Noiseee! (Joyful Noise) I just wanted to take you back to the good ol' days!
I’m not from Detroit but I remember buying Perfected Praise’s first project (with Kayla Parker) and listened to it everyday for at least two years straight. It was an awesome project. That is also how I found about Pastor Iona Locke.
@ Tina Glen.... that song is entitled I TRIED HIM.. I believe the original choir that sang it was the Thompson Community Singers many years ago, led by Kim McFarland.. by the way, I'm not trying to show any comparison in any way because both CHOIRS are AWESOME in every way.....
I Tried Him and I Know Him by Rev Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Singers from their 1990 album Open Our Eyes. The group you see here is Joyful Noise.
