The singer Corey Taylor did go through a divorce recently. "MYOPIC/Cannot See Straight/DYSTOPIC/One Sin Too Late" is a throwback to their song called "The Nameless", they used the same kind of callback vocals in that song. Not sure what those actual lyrics mean, but for a longtime Slipknot fan it was nice to hear that kind of style again. Always love your perspective, Andy.
The hole/hell being so cold concept went right over your head. What he was trying to relay is that denial has particularly a much stronger effect when your anti social.. Hole=isolation which is a step TO committing to letting go. Alot of times to let go of a bad part of your life some people gotta go with it.
@@Kbecker2436 Unsainted is about going through rough times and how religion tries to Express itself as a refuge from those times. Understand that a majority of people with issues like Corey don't use religion as a salve, and judgemental Christiand are a lot of the problem as to why. Instead of listening and understanding, they say "turn your back on your outlet (songs) and come go church, just don't worry and let God take control!" That doesn't do it. This song expresses those frustrations. To be honest, I'm not anti-belief, I'm anti-religious. Religion is a means of codifying and controlling belief and faith for the benefit of the people.
