Also, I think it’s important for gospel artists to consider the family members when singing at funerals that’s it’s not a concert nor a live recording. Be respectful to the family and consider the time frame and those coordinating the funeral. Time out for 3 hour funerals. We tired. Let’s lay the body in the ground already🙏

Thank God she showed up to respectfully honor him. This choir and musicians appear to be from a much younger generation. The songs did not appear to be rehearsed, and she had to finally select an easier song so that everyone could catch on. All things considered, the Bishop transitioned to heaven the very second he passed. With a highly anointed and unique voice such as his, he could sing and minister among the best of the best. He ain't mad, so why should we be?
That choir is the best choir in Greensboro, NC. If everyone knew the back story, they would know that the choir was low key "set-up". They were told they wouldn't have to sing behind Shirley prior to the service. So they were not prepared. Plus the sound/ mics were off. But yeah check them out New Jerusalem Cathedral GSO.

The old church during the era of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, Rev. James Cleveland and Dr. Bettye Ransom would have never had sound issues. That choir would have been loud and clear.
I love Pastor Shirley Ceasar. She is a trailblazer in the Gospel Music Industry. Some people feel like and commented that they feel like shes missing it or slipping. Pastor Ceasar has been doing this longer than some of us have been alive. Trust me, those songs and everything are ingrained in her. This generation today couldn't take the pressure she would put on people in rehearsal or the embarrassment she would unleash in a performance. I salute Pastor Shirley Ceasar. Bishop Kervy Brown loved Pastor Shirley Ceasar, and i know if he had been here, he would be pushing her to go ahead or be right with her singing and praising. You were honored well and saluted Bishop Brown.
Shirley knew Kervy for many years and plus she`s lost several people very close to her almost back to back ... She`s a strong woman but this had to be very hard to do , she took her time and paused on and off but she pushed through. Also it didn`t help that most of the choir didn`t know the songs therefore not able to properly follow her so she was kind of left hanging .

That's why she kept singing so many songs - it's what's most familiar to her & made her feel the safest. ♥️ I love her soooo much & it really hurt my heart to see her like that.

Mother Shirley testified that she is has been down in the name of Jesus Christ! Praise God! I pray for the family of the minister that transitioned. There is more that I could say but we will continue to pray for Mother Shirley that the Lord completes her faith and brings the revelation of the things that she is missing concerning her doctrine. My prayers are with the family and the body of Christ to mature and be perfected!

@stevenvoid Highly doubt that. Nobody EVER puts Shirley on a program without her singing, and if it's not a different song, it's usually "Sweeping Through The City."
She was doing too much. Those young folk in that choir wasn’t feeling her. And seems like the audience wasn’t either. She seems like she has an onset of Dementia. She kept repeating herself and jumping through those songs that that Director woman couldn’t keep up with her too. Then she started to salute at the end when they were trying to shut her down. Y’all don’t know her.. she takes over and does what she wants as long as she wants. “SHE IS A LEGEND “😏😵💫🥴
She kind of over did it. There were so many other singers and things that had went on that weekend. I can only imagine the family being exhausted and then Pastor Shirley giving a mini concert at a funeral. That was a little to much and to long on the family. I remember how exhausted we were when my mom passed and she was a Evangelist.

She’s a gospel legend and I absolutely love her but she’s at the stage in life where she’s doing too much and staying too long. Imagine having a family sit through a 20-minute set and still saying nothing.
Just so you know, the band was not playing her songwriting the beginning. That was all them not her. And she’s a legend. I think she deserves to Would do take her time. They knew what they were doing when they asked for Shirley Caesar.🫡😎🫠

@@amandanbs4037 , Someone that actually attended this service posted a comment saying there was some miscommunication to how long and how many songs Shirley was supposed to do , also she paused when someone in the audience in the front row became very emotional and she couldn`t get the choir and sound together... Mother Biddy was also trying to help direct the choir but to no avail as well.
She was rude and made the funeral about herself , somebody should have taken that mic from her. They were so embarrassed. She at the funeral trying to be seen doing a concert smh
