It's not voting for the sake of voting. You must do your due diligence to choose a candidate that best aligns with your values. Do say you don't know who to vote for and to not vote is, honestly, is hiding behind being "responsible". Being responsible is being able to respond. To not respond because you don't know who to choose is again, hiding. Also, to choose a candidate we know won't even make it to the end, is simply another way of hiding. If you know candidate 2 is better than candidate 1 (who you really have no agreement in values with), then you take away the percentage of candidate 2 winning and you get stuck with the candidate you really don't want. We all know the current state of our nation is not good, so why choose that candidate? We know the state in which our country was because of another candidate. You choose. But not choosing at all is probably what got our nation where it's at these last 4 years.
@@jediapostleknight You say "do your due diligence". But what do you really know about foreign policy? Do you get daily intelligence briefs? Are you really an authority in economics? An authority on the environment? To decide which policy is far beyond due diligence. The Founding Fathers did not foresee or want voters to decide policy, rather voters voted for well admired, intelligent leaders who had the time, education and desire to know policy in depth and then those leaders voted for a President. Pro-Trumpers say policy, not character matters most and that's backwards. The only reason for saying character doesn't matter is to get Trump onto the ballot.
@@matthewtenney2898 To your point, there are admired and intelligent leaders to help me and others understand and be educated on foreign policy, economics, and the others you stated. The truth is, we are in a time where we have to vote for those things and do our "due diligence". People want to talk about "character" when it comes to Trump, yet they never want to talk about character when comes to Biden, Harris, or many of the Democratic Party. Nonetheless, I never threw out character. I said, choose a candidate who best aligns with your values.
