I truly believe that Bishop has gone off the rails with a few of his personal opinions. He's speaking about "titles" but what about talking about the one who died for our sins now that's important. Only the black church address the pastor's wife first lady 😮

I love it. Being a Pastor wife is such a high level of serving. Women get beat up verbally, sized up, lied on etc. I respect all pastor wives and what ever title they are given. People are mean, and judgemental. If you dont like the title "First Lady" simply avoid attending a church that uses it. Its not a salvation issue at all.
I don't call anyone first lady but a respectful loving wife of a pastor is to be respected the presidents of United States wives are called first Lady there's been so many all can't be first Lady
The term First Lady is simply a term of endearment. But it does not mean that she is catered to. She is in the background praying, answering phone calls, attending members weddings , funerals, house blessings, and hospital visits. She is supporting the work of the ministry as well as encouraging her husband when he wants to give it all up. And…. She is supportive of her kids and “Bebe’s kids” too. And the list goes on and on.
Totally DISAGREE! The Wife as a Preacher should not be referred to as a FIRST LADY. This culture is particularly defined in Black Churches so everyone can bowed down to her and put her on a pedestal. Michelle Obama or the President Wives are called First Ladies appropriately and not be compared to this preacher rhetoric.

Show me in the Bible where Pastor‘s wife is supposed to be first lady and have a whole entourage of women walking in with her. Lifting her up like she’s high and mighty she is no different than the woman sitting in the congregation the church so want to be like the world, the church is not like the White House.

If it is not in the Bible then it is not true and it is man made and Bishop Wooden should know this. If it is true he should be able to prove it with scriptures. I have noticed that he doesn't go to scripture in many if his sermons

While Sister Wooden should have the utmost respect, calling her First Lady is not necessary to accomplish that. And, given that, my understanding, there is no place in scripture for that "designation"......!
There are A LOT of things that go on in a Church, that is not Scriptural. If you go to a church that does this, and you don’t want to call her the First Lady then don’t. Many do it just to show respect. But, there rules, programs, and the like, that certain Pastors and leaders have set for the Church they lead. It’s not in the scriptures, but they are done. A person has to find a church that feeds their soul. NO CHURCH is going to be everything YOU want it to be.
Only in the black church are pastors wives called "first ladies." Nowhere in Scripture are there any "first ladies," or is it even insinuated. While I do respect the wife of a pastor (IF she's a wife), that title isn't necessary. That's more to do with blacks not being given respect for everything we've done in America (especially black women), so we use a calling to serve as bishop to give her credit too.
I don’t agree with Bishop Wooden. Why can’t a pastor’s wife simply be called Sister (Fill in the blank)? Simply put, just because you are married to a pastor doesn’t mean you need to have a lofty title bestowed upon you. SMH😳
You have to stop being so negative. Who said that First Lady was lofty? Stop trying to find something negative in it. Women who are married to Pastos serve at a high level. If you have done any public work, you understand the mistreatment that Pastor wives get. Being called first lady, is simply a designation of knowing who is who and it is also helpful for the first lady to establish boundaries. It is not saying she is lording over anyone or that she is better. It's simply saying, I am the woman that is serving on the side of this Pastor. In white church, we simply call it Pastor wives, in pentecostal or most black church, it's called first lady. Either way, I've seen women plot, lie, bully, flirt with their husband's, start discord agaisnt the Pastor wife. I've seen the Pastor wife take it, pray for them, and love them and serve them. She is the woman of the house and the most seen and criticized woman in the church. They need some type of separation. There's title given in secular jobs to define their roles. There's no difference here. It's not a salvation issue. Until you actually walk the shoes and get knee deep, you should probably pray for them instead of critique them.

I don't agree with the FIRST LADY title. However, it seems he's just talking. I don't see it as if he's using scripture to justify the title and teaching the church as of its doctrine. Also, there's no sin in giving his wife that name. If he chooses to give HIS WIFE that title, that's between them. I call my wife BABE, an i wrong since no wife in the Bible has that name? I still ride with Wooden when he opens the scriptures and preaches the Word.

As right as he is on some stuff, he’s dead wrong on TONS of other things, like this. The Bible doesn’t have anyone called 1st lady and there were more 1st ladies in the real sense then than now. Then, often the men had multiple wives, so someone had to be 1st. Separately, there is no such biblical position because your wife doesn’t need to be puffed up. She doesn’t need to be set above any other men or women in the church by way of a title. She should be set apart by her actions. The respect will automatically come when she is leading the other women of the church into better lives, marriages, parenting, etc. instead of focusing on worldly titles, she should be focusing on heavenly titles like being saved, sanctified and being filled with the Holy Ghost.
All this shows me is we’re more concerned about organized religion and not about our relationship with God. I’ve never called the pastors wife that. Not because I’m a contrarian, I’ve just not worshipped at all place where this moniker is used. Nothing in the Bible about this at all. Formal political titles, like the First Lady of the US, is completely different.
I’d also add to be careful of COGIC and other organized groups. They love God, sure enough, but if you fall foul of these silly rules, they’ll kick you out or “discipline” you….just be careful!!
Um Pastor Wooden be given his opinion. This is a horrible teaching because he did not research the ranks and it’s not biblical it’s completely secular. Call those ladies what they want to be called. Your wife likes First Lady cool that’s not for every preacher wife. I greet people with the most love and respect that I can muster.

I was glued to the long video concerning the largest church in our nation and the complete downfall of its pastor and leaders . So sad, so sad.
