Benatar was a trained opera singer before switching to rock, which is why so much of the power comes from such a petite woman. She is married to the guitar player, still together after 40 years, and still performing.
You mentioned how petite she is, she's only like 5 ft. When I first saw her in concert in the early 80's I was probably about 20 feet from the stage. Crowd was stunned by this tiny woman with the soaring operatic range and loud powerful raspy vocals. She is a powerhouse!
This was a song originally done by the Rascals in the mid-60's, the greatest American R&R band ever. Their leader/singer/writer was the embodiment of blue-eyed NYC soul, Sicilian-American Felix Cavaliere. I never thought anyone could do it better but little Pat definitely did it justice. God bless her. Great backing band too
Pat.... the powerful voice of the little rocker One of the top female leads of all time Five platinum albums several double platinum Still married to lead guitarist....Pat and Neil were married in 1982
Wow I remember when she first came out and I never knew that was a cover and i liked a lot of The Young Rascals songs. I wasn’t paying attention. And PS I wasn’t on drugs either. Always been clean lol. Thanks for the info
Thx for your “love” We enjoy ur loving couple reactions to ALL generations/gender of music. Again, Pat Benatar… Hell is for Children Not a pretty song (we’ll let you decide). But it DID help bring the issue into light in the ‘80’s. SHE’s just a bad a*s. Thx again
So glad your doing more Pat, she's a great Rocker of the 80's when female's ruled 😅 Peace✌️ and Love❤️ Gary😊 your 70 year old forever hippie, great reaction!😅 ROCK N' ROLL ! MTV was the way to see 👀 our favorite's😍
pat benatar was and is a POWERHOUSE. her earlier work still resonates with me. check out these from her first 3 albums: heartbreaker we live for love i need a lover (a cover of john cougar mellencamp's song, which is also great!) precious time fire and ice treat me right shadows of the night you already heard the other 2 songs i love so hope to hear more pat! thanks! 😊
Pat was a real rocker, and garnered controversy for several songs early in her career, because everyone misinterpreted the lyrics. One of her early songs, HELL IS FOR CHILDREN, was a song about child abuse that people mistakenly thought was a slam on children, and HiT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT, which was meant metaphorically, but people thought she was advocating domestic violence. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Both of these were real bangers that you should check out.
Pat was a little more than this 13 year old boy could handle back then. With hormones raging, this beauty comes out of nowhere, seemingly - and steals my heart!! She's still incredibly beautiful with a beautiful voice. And to her husband, Neil, I say to you - the better man definitely won!!
Pat Benatar was very outstanding, a girl very powerfull with a great voice. Probably you heard her most known song "Love is a battlefield", but another song was very importatn at the time, a song very sad for strong hearted people, "Hell is for children", on youtube you can find a live best performance in wich you can ear the anger and the pain in her beautiful voice.
I remember when this video broke on MTV, when MTV came on the air, this definitely was the second video, the first video ever played on MTV was The Buggles, Video killed the radio Star... And it did.
Another great reaction.! If you like Pat B. Your going to love Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Check out her song "I Hate Myself For Loving You". She'll rock your socks off...
Pat is awesome!!! If you haven't heard it, check out Hell is for Children. It's about child abuse... excellent song. Also, Never wanna leave you, and Heartbreaker, and Wuthering Heights is pretty.
You GOT TO react to Heartbreaker (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ktcGzQDZCWQ.html) next, cause that is a performance for the ages, even if only for the very last scene with Pat (you will see).
