Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen Underpaid? QB Salarys Out of Control.

Does that only cover the primary QB or include the backup and third string QB also. I would think it would cover the position, not an individual player and then you are having to factor in their salaries also. Just a curious fan, Don. GO BILLS!

Parity is the glue that elevates the NFL above all other professional team sports. Without parity, you'll get a situation like soccer in Europe where there are a small number of teams who overpay for players, and with the best players win all the silverware. It's really really challenging for smaller market teams to do well in their national leagues, and even harder to qualify nevermind do well in the champions league. The pool of top teams is getting to be a self-interested closed shop. I'm sure there are NFL owners who would be happy to see the salary cap end in order to dominate the league. The NFL meanwhile continues to push the limits on what fans will pay for their product. If Josh Allen gets another $13m a season, we the fans end up footing the bill (pun intended!). But there's a maximum cost for everyone. Can I afford to see my Buffalo Bills three times this season? Three flights from Scotland, tickets, beers, wings, accommodation, merch? I don't know how long I can justify costs over emotion.

They aren't underpaid. They were paid well when the contracts were signed. They will be paid highest again on their next deals. This is how it works.

Have a Franchise QB Tag that is used 1 time every 10 years and Half the contract counts toward Cap but you can’t sign any one player within 50% of that contract. That creates balance on Team using TAG! That way you can’t sign Jones and TAG for QB for 10 years. You eat the BAD 4 year contract. Also can have QB contract escalator built in based on QBR or something else.

Pat will make up that money on the back end. He's going to the Hall of Fame. He's going to be making tons of money for many many years to come. Just keep winning and the money will come. Tom Brady said it himself. He made more money in the last 5 years of his career.

Patrick is not underpaid. Any QB making what Mahomes is making or above is absolutely overpaid! Mahomes understands there is a salary cap and for his success he needs pieces around him. So he signed a ten year contract that secured him a half of a billion dollars and that’s just his NFL contract. He gave the Chiefs wiggle room to be able to give him what he needs to be successful. While you have other players just trying to get all they can get whether they deserve it or not. And to me none of the QB’s making more than 45 million deserve 45 million let alone what they are making. And please let’s not lump Josh Allen into this equation with Mahomes. Mahomes is the unquestioned #1 QB in the league. A lot of people don’t have Allen as even a top 3 or top 5 player in the league. And I mean he has accomplished nothing so it’s hard to make an argument that he is.
