@46:20 lmao. If people could only understand. I was the same way in my early 20s... didn't really give a shit what others were doing. I was a sales mgr and for all the big meetings and stuff I was the guy who just drank beers, took shots, and was too naive to care about what others thought of me. I was the guy everyone called after the meetings to meet up in their hotel room to go with them places to add the juice to the night. When you said you were the "Dancing monkey"... I just realized that was me in my early 20s 🤣. I was really good at my job, objectively and subjectively. People more important than me liked me. But I was the dancing monkey who drank a 16oz coors light on each and every hole of my first official company golf outing while keeping our team in contention with some DEEP drives, and some amazing chip shots, while also falling down a 30 foot hill covered in mud, and ultimately pinning a deeply hated sales manager from another store against the wall. Woke up to learn my GF who had to pick me up was pissed, my best "old guy" friend was pissed because I broke his glasses when he tried to stop me from pinning said stooge, and a bunch of other things. Most shame I think I've ever felt the day after anything.

I always come back to this podcast every few months to give it a lesson. Great chemistry and probably where they realized they had something as well as pat’s early shows with AJ. But AJ is spot on with his take on podcasts, I watch there show every day while I’m busy around the house and garden. Then I’ll check out other podcasts whether it’s Rogan and a guest I would be interested in, or any of the athlete podcasts. Not including clips. Aside from Yellowstone and sports podcasts are on the speakers the rest of the day

@33:45 I think it's a combo of genetics and how you grew up. You learn to fall properly real fucking quick if you are on skateboards at a young age and break your arm one summer and your ankle that same fall. Not completely relevant sports athletically... But if you get older and play football, you just remember how to fall. I was in hs and fully understood what AJ was saying about using the crown of your helmet onto the facemask of people 100 pounds heavier, and as a 200lb noseguard and FB / guard / center (the latter 2 only when I was designed to pull). Theres a way to do it... it's kind of like a sweet spot. You hit it right and feel absolutely nothing. I just happened to hit it right all the time, but I'm sure if I was off by a little I'd experience a "Stinger". If I was off by more than a little, I'd be like the bigger, stronger middle linebacker on my team at the time who was concussed perpetually. Not just a little, this dude would come off the field singing Christmas carols. I think the only difference was he simply just rammed his head into bigger dudes with no other thought. I was always calculating the angle and if I couldn't hit the way I wanted I aborted and figured something else out or reverted to a more conservative angle or something.
