One thing I regret from the japanese filming crew is on Third Wind no cameraman makes the close up on Aznar's quite incredible voice holding it from 20:53 to 21:13. You can tell Steve Rodby turning his head towards Aznar amazing voice and the crowd cheering just seconds before Pat's guitar solo kicks in. I wish they could have film it. Few singers in the world I have seen it doing it. That's the talent PM mustered back in the 90's.
This was right in the middle of Pat's most exciting period in his musical career. Man do I ever miss it! For me, 1983 to 1997 (Travels to Imaginary Day) represent the best era of the Group. I felt like the magic was fading starting with Speaking of Now.
Interesting thoughts. I can understand what you mean, even though Speaking of Now and The Way Up both are albums I've listened to way too many times, and enjoy immensely. The albums prior are much more mysterious...
I swear I thought PM was going to start rising off the ground there at one point. This was a particularly great performance by Everyone On Stage. You know what they say: a rising tide floats all boats…
You'll find NO argument here....!! This Man is literally a living Legend and my favorite Pianist just happened to be in his group. Thank you Mr Lyle Mays for adding warmth and texture to Pats music. RIP
@@jfs70ssand Pedro Aznar is Every Bit as talented too. His contribution to this mix was Spectacular. I would like to have heard his rhythm guitar playing a little higher in the mix though.
