The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar features a 42mm platinum case surrounding a blue “Sunburst” dial on a navy blue alligator strap with a platinum tang buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, day, month, annual calendar and chronograph. The watch also measures 14.5mm in thickness and 50.2mm from lug-to-lug.

This watch is razor-sharp! Check out the metal-based sector pattern on the dial, the scalloped lug profiles, concave bezel, and the simplified version of the 5960's dial layout. Both larger and cleaner than the original 5960, this 5905 combines wrist presence with elegance. Best, Tim

I'm glad they got rid of the 2 tone dial and that made this watch the best Patek in my opinion at this price range. I love this watch. Simple, elegant but cost a lot..

The case profile is seamless... very clean cut look. It look expensive even by merely looking at the side profile.

I'd sign up for that. This is a stronger design effort than the 5960. Overall, I prefer the dial and case profiling of the 5905. Best, Tim

Looks fantastic, a bit bulky for Patek, but understandably for all that complications. I love the hands and indices and how it is contrasted with the beautiful dial. I really love the aperture style annual calendar. What do you think is the best aperture style annual calendar in each price slice? Best, Abdul

This one is pretty tough to beat at the top end. The MIH watch would be my nominee in the sub-$10,000 category, and I'd nominate the discontinued Zenith Captain Winsor El Primero for the $10,000-$20,000 range. Between that and the 5905P shown here, 5235G at just under $50,000. Best, Tim
