That is SUCH a cool way to summon them. With this we can truly feel like a hellish fire wielding Necromancer! I love the summon per 1.5m, we don't have anything like that in PoE1, as if the sheer power and size of your fire spell summons forth more raging spirits. I WANT TO PLAY IT!
Summoning a inferno of deadly skulls spawning from the hits a firestorm-like skill is such a cool archetype. or even armagedon brands. the possibilities are endless. The InfernalSummoner/Ghost Rider build is alive boys!
I think the Minion Instability Keystone will be gone from the tree because of the way they reworked Detonate Dead which is basicaly Minion Instability but requires player input in order for explosions to happen. I would love to be wrong as this was one of my fav minion build archetype.
So, can we assume the restrictions to damage types affecting minions will be removed? Making it viable being a summoner and doing some DMG by yourself too, like in this case increasing fire(or physical+fire due to conversion) dmg will increase srs dmg and also the skill that we use to summon them
Hmm, at first I thought that wouldn't work, but then the wording makes it seem like it could possibly work. But it would only work with something like holy flame totem as that has both the fire and spell tag, and not a spell totem as the totem is using the skill and only has a spell tag, so it wouldn't apply.
I love how minion builds being more active is going towards actually doing and attacking things yourself (SRS and Unearth) Instead of the activity being spam summoning minions or using desecrate + offering and then running in circles like it is in poe1

Summon abomination would be cool. A skill which combines different corpses to summon a single powerful minion we directly control with its abilities. Looking like the abominations in warcraft 3 and changing appereance depending on the used corpses. When you create different animations we could also use them again for a skill where we shapeshift into an abomination and need to feast on corpses to get stronger or change our abilities depending on the corpses we consume :P
@@cipherx2181You can only get 5 per cast at most, so assuming curses work the same in PoE2 you would already be getting the max you could without any extra curse AoE.
How would you incorporate weapon swap in a srs build? I dont think srs would be good with just a fire staff because the staff probably doesnt have minion damage. So sceptre and wand but what could you do with your other weapon slot?
i feel like there should be a Lightning version of this sort of idea that generates Sparks instead. Reap should create temporary spirit minions like the new Unearth makes skeletal scorpions. Volatile Dead could work like an AoE Raise Zombie but it generates minions that rush enemies and explode. Tempest Shield really should proc its lightning when Shield-based skills hit. Lightning Tendrils feels like it should generate Arc.
We could have a similar setup using other spell/attack skill gems with Herald of Purity as the only way to summon them is to kill mobs with another ability. The meta is just that we ONLY use a spell or attack summon and "refresh" and never also for damaging purposes. Which I never liked. Socket pressure is already so high on minion builds getting your spell or attack to deal even half reasonable dmg while also investing in minion dmg and survivability is just simply not a thing in POE 1. What I see here is really exciting. Self cast to 10 or Spell cast to 5 if I read it correctly. Makes me hope that SRS will now dual scale off the minion tag and the fire tag (or fire damage rather) properly now. Which in my mind would be a great way to make sure both self casting and spell casting are viable.
I agree PoE1 didn't really allow for such a setup, which makes me all the more excited for such things in PoE2. Also there's no self cast, it can just summon a maximum of 10 spirits in total, 5 max per spell cast.
@@dreamcore_gg Ohh I see now. Not sure how to feel about that. I reckon it'll feel alot like using the Red Covenant helmet with Enormity. Less max, throw on a unleash and summon 4 each cast. To me unleash feels quite good on srs. So I suppose this fixes one of their biggest and in my opinion most annoying problems. Keeping 20 srs out for maximum dps. I think this is gonna be a game changer for SRS in POE 2. Got me all kinds of excited. Also since I'm here, any chance on a Red Covenant? A mostly never used helmet that I personally think is the best way to play SRS, atleast before Enormity dropped that is.
You can get more spirit from gear and the passive skill tree etc. Spirit will be used for auras, permanent minions and automation skills(like this one and cast on shock etc.) so I don't think you'll see non-summoners using minions because they'll likely use their spirit for auras/automation setups
Dunno, I feel like that it will not be path of exile anymore, no more tinkering with your character, but steamlined, telling you what to use and locking you into archetypes. No more gamebreaking stuff that the devs didn't think about and you felt smart by figuring it out. It's fine for a business standpoint but it will be the same 3 or 4 days of gaming per league and waiting for next league as D4
2 consecutive SRS videos in 2 days.. am I dreaming? am I alive? love you dreamcore. edit: I just finnished watching.. and I don't know if I should be happy or sad.. it seems like it is pretty much support gem that is proced on some different hit based spell.., so -1 gem link. and even if it is seperatly operatable I am not sure if I like it.. I really enjoy fact that I don't have to aim really.. aiming in general diraction is good enough and raging spirit finds it way.. but I haven't played it yet soo.. yee.. Going for debuff/exposure setup that spawn minions on enemy is going to be a thing I guess.. I hope popcorn srs could pop by itself - without aiming the spirit and make him pop. that would be disaster for me.
it's a toggle buff like an aura that makes all fire spells summon them. You don't link it to specific spells, you could just blast your feet with some aoe spell and it'd play the same way as current srs, in fact you'd get more supports on srs because you wouldn't need unleash etc. since you could just scale the size of the fire spell and summon multiple.
It's not a support gem(that's what I thought to begin with), it's a reservation skill, can be fully supported(a full 6 link, 5 supports for SRS) and procs whenever you use/hit with any fire spell(doesn't need to be linked to a fire spell). I think it will be super fun playstyle!
Would love animate guardian with its own inventory , actual proper mirror animate weapons something close to forge guard from Last Epoch. Totems that behave like your own copies of equipment, engineering style where you can gear and equip your own totems. Lets bring all those ideas and mechanics to 2024. Lots of other games do this already
they've confirmed desecrate will not be ported and there won't be any way to spawn corpses. Or at least it will be very difficult to do so - they want temporary minions to actually be temporary as a way to balance single target vs clear, and corpses are a good way to do that
It's just that I have wardloop build in standart with 4k ward after flask and few mirror invested, everything automated😂 I can tank shaper beam and everything 😂 was thinkin if something is possible here from the start
@Antiquated-Ether they will have a few cast due to x skills, but I'm not sure if they are going to add any automation thay allows you do pretty much nothing like wardloop. Though, ward and olroth flask prob isn't gonna be in poe2 either lol
It's funny you say that that kind of hybrid build isn't a thing in PoE 1, cos it's not for lack of trying by GGG. They've tried to promote it from multiple angles. Through ascendancies like the Guardian, through skills like Smite, even through uniques like The Black Cane (its flavortext literally tells you to 'lead the army of the damned from the front'). They've been trying to promote it for years, but players just never took to it. That bodes ill for their next attempt in PoE 2
I agree they've tried to promote it a lot, even things like Battlemage's Cry, but I disagree that its failure to catch on in PoE1 bodes ill for PoE2. PoE1 simply doesn't provide enough incentive to scale multiple archeypes in the same build simultaneously, and even actively punishes you for doing so, fe. with socket pressure, or trading off a bunch of damage in one aspect to only gain similar or lower yields in another, with typically a more active playstyle to boot. PoE2 from everything I've seen is doing a much better job of creating a platform to allow you to do such a thing, fe. the weapon swap skill tree system. Most of the footage we've seen of the gameplay appears to be combining several concepts into one build, whether it be as simple as the sorceress using fire and cold abilities, or the witch using chaos DoT alongside minions, I think and I hope that this will be viable or even the norm in PoE2.
