My cat started bothering me as soon as the Pure Vessel fight started, but otherwise pretty easy. Come hang out in my discord!: / discord #HollowKnight #challenge #nohit #PathofPain #PureVessel #modded
@@jaypeterson9256 Pure vessel is Hollowknight. Hollowknight failed, because of that memory. In the memory, the knight was younger. Pure vessel is older. Therefore, pure vessel is NOT purely hollow
I started playing this game cause the artstyle looked cool and now I find out that their community its full of psychopaths that like to suffer by making the already hardest area even more hard
@@he2fast4u35pretty much what OP is saying with the "making rhe hardest part of the game more hard" lol But yes the HK community is just filled with masochists
Pure Vessel: Dad, tell me a bedtime story. Pale King: ... and your sibling, who somehow escaped Abyss, will come to your astral projection in the dream of Godseeker and kick the shit out of you... Pure Vessel: Dad, you forgot to take your pills again?
I know the path to no hit was extremely painful (hah) but it's extremely soothing watching Ghost go through here like it's just a stroll through the park.
Hey it's painful but it's so worth it. It's incredibly satisfying actually completing it, and watching me do it. Even now, I can watch some of the more difficult things I've done and go "wait what the fuck was that, no way I actually no hit that"
Puer Vessel it's actually better for the end of Path of Pain, but I feel they put those knights instead because Pure Vessel may do the whole area unfair for some peolple
I feel like Pure Vessel was originally meant for this place. There was so much build up to the end of the path of pain with the final platforming challenge, the music swelling, and the long drop into the arena. To just have it filled with two king's molds feels like an afterthought. The Pure Vessel has the perfect color scheme for it, it is technically a memory so it would make some sense lore wise, and it provides a good final challenge at the end of PoP. When I beat it the first time, I felt cheated. I got a cool thing of lore, but that's it. The King's Molds were not a challenge and it felt like a waste of time. If the Pure Vessel was at the end, it would make the PoP feel worthwhile. EDIT: my views do not represent what this comment implies anymore. As a lot of comments have explained to me, this logic is flawed. I suggest scrolling through the comments as they provide a lot of insight into this topic that my smooth brain couldn’t come up with the first time.
@Bughana Fair enough. I do have to admit I was being a bit close minded when writing that comment. I was mostly writing it out of pure dissatisfaction when beating PoP. It just seemed to be building up to so much more than just two kings molds. But I have to understand that most people are not seeking ridiculous challenge and anxiety at the end. It’s an already rage inducing section of the game and to have all of your progress melted away by one of the hardest bosses in the game would be infuriating. I will try to keep an open mind the next time I post something like this. Thank you for the criticism. P.S. I’m actually fucking terrible at the game, I just enjoy throwing my head against the wall multiple times :)
@Bughana to be clear, I have not beaten PoP nor beaten the 1st pantheon but I think he’s right, they could just make a breakable wall at the end that connects to the beginning of PoP afterwards
@@theconsumerofpenguins81 You can't create a something that is nothing, therefore the goal of creating a completely empty being, or a "Pure Vessel" is impossible to achieve.
@@KenzieWalker-h2c I think the point of the vessels was not to literally be nothing, but to have absolutely no sentience whatsoever for the radiance to control, and be made of void to perfectly contain it.
@@KenzieWalker-h2c from my point of view the void in hollow knight is different from the void that we think about because in hollow knight it's more of a physical thing that can create things that don't have a mind, voice and don't feel because it's all void and not a real being These void beings can be given a mind by someone who spends time with the void being (like pale king) This could be as simple or complex as giving it a decision or teaching it how to fight and it's not clear when the pure vessel got a mind but there is 4 places/events I can think of where it might of happened 1. The birthplace 2. The Path of pain cutseen 3. When it was taught how to use a nail/focus/any other ability it has 4. Any time anyone had Long conversations to the pure vessel This is all just speculation though built on my perspective on the hollow knight so this may all be wrong.
Keep trying man, it’s a pain in the ass, but soon you will get it down. I know it’s been almost a month since it so you might have done it already, but if you haven’t, good luck.
@@falon5750, how so? The whole place is practically a memory, it wouldn’t be too difficult to explain that the pure vessel at it’s prime was sealed away, or at least the memory of it’s strength.
@@judgment5090 well, the PoP locks away the Pale king showing affection? Whereas the Pure Vessel is something that the king desired, so that memory wouldn't really have any reason to be sealed i guess.
It would’ve been cool, but wouldn’t make sense due to the lore. Why would pure vessel be without his father? Why is he still there? So yea, it doesn’t work.
@@mrchonks6607 you know, a pure vessel could be something like a guardian of the memory of the white palace, and supposedly after defeating it, you open that cutscene with a small vessel and a king, or you could beat it so that the whole path of pain is supposedly the path of a pure vessel and at the end the battle with him should reveal his memory and memories to you, as for me this does not destroy the lore of the game, but on the contrary makes the path of pain a part of the plot lore and not just an add-on for masochists and speedrunners in the game)
Showing the delicate flower at the very end is the biggest flex lmao. I've seen this vid a few times now and only just noticed that now. Nice one man ;)
This would've been really neat to see in the actual path of pain, but I can completley understand why they didn't. Path of pain is hard enough, throwing pure vessel in their too might've been a bit much
I think it would have been. Give us a checkpoint after the kingmoulds and then a room with pure vessel. Pure Vessel tried very hard to be hollow, so it makes sense for him to be protecting the memory that made him fail. It just makes sense for him to be here. I hate how he just pops in the pantheon.
@@Vepzzzzznah thats a trash take, pv with a bench and a stag station (because who wants to go back through the path in reverse??) after the PoP would be godtier
We can have it, albeit for just a moment! In the ending where we face The Radiance and they help us by holding her still for the final blow - it always felt like the make-older-sibling-proud closure we yearn for .
You know, a lot of people are saying "Pure Vessel would have been so perfect here but it would have been too unfair!" and I wonder if like... the Pure Vessel was originally easier, and got buffed for the Pantheons?
I think he could have been a replacement for the great knight who died in Queen's Gardens. We were originally supposed to fight her, so they gave us his battle instead.
@@Dominikowski12345 I'm assuming you mean moveset-wise? Because if so, that would honestly be pretty cool, even if it would be weird that Fierce Dryya had such a similar moveset to the Hollow Knight. Then again, they were likely both trained in combat by the same people...
Yeah but then you get the shit ending that makes you feel as if it was all for nothing, sure a slice of lore and a journal entry Is nice but for something as trying as path of pain. I felt cheated when I finally finished it.
Not really! Considering The Pure Vessel is an end-of-pantheon boss, you don’t have to fight them in the main campaign. Their statue in the Hall of Gods is unlocked the moment you encounter them in P4. They’re just like Nightmare King Grimm in that sense - you don’t have to battle against NKG to fight him in the Pantheons, he’s unlocked by simply finding them there (if I’m remembering correctly). Plus Godtamer, for whatever reason, also doesn’t have to be killed. But that one doesn’t make much sense.
@@overthinkit_ yeah its weird, but just "encountering" the boss will put it in the hall of gods for some reason. you dont have to defeat them. no idea why, but ig it helps for practice (so if you die to a pantheon specific boss you dont have to do the entire pantheon again to get to them). im not 100% sure if this works for every boss, but i think it does?
Interviewer: How well do you perform under pressure? Dan: I completed the path of pain Interviewer: Impressive. Dan: Hitless. Interviewer: Hired and promoted to team leader. Dan: against Pure Vessel Interviewer: Alright give me your seed, make me the mother to your child
Watching TAS is cool, I love it, but knowing that there's someone actually playing like this, makes me appreciate the video on a whole different level. Well done, sir. Well done.
When I first reach the white palace it felt like an the most difficult possible platforming challenge. It felt so good to reach the end. But then the pantheons and path of pain revealed themselves before me. It took all of my polished skills and hundreds of attempts to barely reach 0:20, sadly that's where I found my limit at this game. I'm just baffled by the insane level of skill necessary to beat PoP. I take my hat off to you.
I can recommend NOT to give up! I did the path of pain over 2 years ago and I need 14 hours to get past 0:20. No joke. I don't know what was wrong there but I just couldn't do it. After I finally passed this I completed the whole rest of path of pain in 3 hours, I died 2 times at the guards at the end so I had to start over and on my third playthrough of path of pain I did the complete path in 30mins.
Wow, I thought I just finished Hollow Knight but you just showed me how good someone can actually get at the game. Incredible! Makes me want to keep playing and attempt to master this game as you clearly have. I know you’re excited for Silk Song.
by the way, for those who haven't understood it (like me in my first run) the path of pain contains the most precious thing about Halloween: the memory of the king (pale king) of having failed, of having failed to protect his kingdom and preserve it, for this reason who would have reached that point and because it is true, that entity has proven to know it, because it is with this that the kingdom had fallen into ruin
As someone who spent a REALY long time on Path of Pain I can confidently say that this should be in the game normally. Sure, I would probably take multiple breaks where I do nothing but watch slice of life anime to make my happiness return.... But damn would it be amazing.
I think it'd be awesome if Sealed Vessel cut out when you see the Pure Vessel, but the Kingsmoulds fight theme at the end of the base game's path of pain plays when the Pure Vessel fight begins. (And yes, I know that the Kingsmoulds theme and the Sealed Vessel theme are one and the same. I hope you know what I mean)
Honestly pure vessel should be at the end of path of pain it makes so much sense. The pure form of the hollow Knight defending his most cherished memory. Now, the insane skill it takes to beat path or pain combined with the insane skill it takes to beat pure vessel, in completely different sections of the game, makes it a bit unfair.. so maybe there should be a bench before the fight so players (including me) don’t go insane trying to beat it.. it’s not called path of pain for nothing.
As a "normal" player I just laugh watching how easy this looks after the 13+ tries it took me. The jump at the end was excruciating to get right. Riding that last saw blade and have all the movement, height and double jump to start bouncing off the saw blade above at the end looks easy but for me was rather painful.
To this day I can not believe I was able to do this. Of course it was not hitless. It was not hitless for my controler as well, but I am proud of myself every time I watch some go through that hell.
Having the same song of the "final boss" of the of the game be the same song when going through a difficult level is an amazing idea. It helps to fill the player with dread.
I have done path of pain in two hours today. I know that area is associated with hardcore platforming but I had SO MUCH FUN! And I would like to have pure vessel at the end - this boss is one of my favourite
@@don_kixotejoga whats the difference? When you hit spike in hollow knight you simply dont just take damage, you fall out of the map or something and respawn on the previous checkpoint
@@Fahimlol Yes,but if you actually DIE,you respawn at the closest bench and have to repeat the entire Path o Pain The spikes only gives 1 damage, and in celeste it kills you instantly They're not that different though
Even though it's hard as peck and makes nearly every other boss look like cakewalk, it feels like Pure Vessel would be a more proper boss for Path of Pain, lorewise. And besides, with the infinite SOUL Refill prior to the fight and the existence of Hall of Gods, you'd eventually be able to get enough practice and enter the fight with full SOUL and masks
Ive never played platforming games they're not something I've ever actually liked so i dont bother, and agter white palace i thought it'd be super great to do path of pain. I haven't even beaten the actual game yet. And im on my second DAY of trying to get through so. Props for gettigh through where ive been stuck to the point i had to leave the game open to sleep and keep trying the next day lmfaooo.
help :c, i can't find the pure vessel in the game. I did the path of pain once but, i went against two kingsmould in the final, then when i wanted to go again to the path of pain, it didn't let me go inside , it doesn't let me do the path of pain again, so i don't know what to do or, how i can find the pure vessel, help :(?
I say it in the description, but my cat kept jumping onto my desk when the fight started so I had to pause to take her off. She loves jumping on my desk late at night, so just unfortunate timing
