Love that they added slipstream functionality like that, assuming a similar speed capacity becoming faster than the object creating the slipstream is surprisingly realistic! I can imagine trains of struthis taking turns cutting the air at the front of the group every time they overtake the previous one haha.
I've always been a struthi main. I actually like it's TLC. I play a server where 3rd party is allowed, and I absolutely love getting 2 groups chasing me. I went full non-combat build, and even airborn can't catch me. I don't really care that I can't "defeat" them, because watching them get progressively more risky in their moves as they get frustrated not being able to catch me is 100% a win in my book. Never hitting them yet making them red in the face is insult on injury haha (solo, leap, and that extra maneuverability from lone survivor that you downplayed :D )
I just had a thought when you brought up the Herbivore Parade ability immediately after pointing out the army of Eotrikes and Rexes coming into IC together like a frat party. I think the apex population problem is very easily solved now with the introduction of passives. Apexes are apexes, they're big and tanky by nature, and they do a lot of damage. This is fine if balanced properly in the sense that yes you can be the uber-powerful T. Rex or Spinosaurus, but you're going to be at your strongest when you're alone or in a group with as few other apexes as possible. Make a passive that applies to ALL creatures over 6000 combat weight called "Territorial", which decreases their damage output or whatever other stat works for the creature depending on how many other apexes are in the group. If there's a group of 4 rexes, they're all 40% weaker in the damage department because they should hate having that many rexes together. But if there's one rex and 3+ different smaller species of carnivores, that rex is at its prime damage output. I think this not only helps deal with mega-packs of apexes trying to ruin everyone elses day, but also incentivizes players to choose other options and actually appreciate the game for what it is, rather than what it was when they bought it. Of course, this should be adjustable based on needs of either the server or the creature itself. I can imagine realism servers would hate to have super-nerfed Eotrikes just cause they wanted a realistic herd. Or perhaps it would enable their 2-per pack limited apex carnivores to actually hunt a member of a herd of 8 eotrikes. Who knows, it's a thought, and a decent one I'd reckon.
Certainly an interesting idea, my only issue is just being something and being around others to debuff them sounds very abusable, i think something more like more apexes around eachother drains food/water faster, stacking with each one This would push for more duos and possibly trios but would become unsustainable when you go above that due to how it can be catching food as a rex in grand plains for example. You could go 2 rexes and hunt with decent windows to find food Or you could go 7 rexes and be nonstop searching for food because you are all starving eachother exponentially
@@hunyadacrazy I should clarify that I'm not suggesting any apex near another apex immediately debuffs each other, however specifically apexes that are grouped. The obvious weakness with this is that players don't necessarily need or want to group in a lot of scenarios to do with apexes. However, if something like your idea does in fact limit players want to over-group as apexes, it would also make apex duos or trios *want* to group with a couple smaller creatures that can help catch and harass potential food items that they themselves can't catch. I can imagine the food drain would be a stackable passive debuff that adds like 5-7% more food drain per apex in the group, so a group of 5 rexes end up with 25-35% more food drain they have to deal with.
Thank you Gooser if you ever see this message, I was having a horrible day till I saw the A17 bit, thank you so much for making me laugh to the point of crying 🤣
I uninstalled after a struthy and a baby raptor kos me Trex. Reinstalled and made a spiny Armag to slay raptors. Already hit adolescence and have fought off multiple raptors. Hated it now love it
The pounce invulnerability is so bad. I actually had to complain to the devs with a suggestion to remove it and it's been getting a few up votes (like 14 last I checked) because of how bad it is, but I dont think it will get enough numbers. All I am doing is hoping they see it and reverse the invulnerability cuz holy hells. They didn't even go the route of reduced damage or half damage, they just right up made them godmode when latched.
Murber Ostritch. But theres one problem now... The D̷̘̪̄͋̀̚͝a̸̻͉͕̣̣̕͝m̸̲̣̯̎n̸͚͇̂̍͌̉ ̷̻̉́̑r̷̨̹̀a̵͓̙̯̼͇̓͂p̷̻̜͖͇̤͗͗̕t̷̨̧̠̰̥̓̐̔ơ̵̼̜r̸̝͉̞̺̘̎́̾̚͝s̴̻̟̈́̂̈́̌ͅ ̵͂̈́ͅ
Love the struthi tlc , By now I basically think Alderon enjoys toying with us all consitering they made the new pounce update stuff awesome video Hunya
Yea your best bet is to get the most out of braced legs now with hills, they slow down chasing you up them, also using your double jump for unreachable spots, certainly something to get used to
The On Alert is funny, I was watching a rex collect in green valley, close rnough I could hear the collection noise. Was watching the rex with my eyes. Popped my On Alert and there was nothing in the circle lol, rex even 4 called then broadcasted and still nothing 💀
Personally I don’t mind the pounce change for Rhamphy since it can’t really do much anyway but the raptors were a bit much since they can actually deal damage. But Rhamphy on the other hand is fine it’s a good QOL buff for it
I like the struthiomimus tlc way more and it's fun unlike the lamb tlc that got like 50 nerfs only thing I don't like about the struthiomimus tlc is that it's kick barrage bearly ever works also seems like the dinosaur servivel game devs have a fetish on making pounce op
As a Die hard Struthi main since I first ever played this TLC is good and bad I hate how they for some reason made Struthi slower and I hate how you have to move to use your kick barrage you should be able stand still It’s impossible fight a campto now they just spin all around you and you can’t stand still and kick you have move and they tail ride you and now since you’re slower all they have to do is use their hopping ability to hunt you down and you can’t escape before you could outrun Campto hopping now you can’t and you used to be able fight campto way more efficiently and killing a raptor takes ages because they are moving left to right and the kick barrage is too slow when you do it but the kick barrage is really good against mid tier dinos and some apexes and you can still outrun everything even campto when hopping but you have to rely on abilities to run away from it and I like the double jump that is really fun and good to use and every other ability is amazing it’s just the kick barrage if Struthi could use kick barrage when standing still, be faster when using kick barrage and if Struthi was the same speed as it always then it would be great but I love Struthi so nothing is going make me stop using Struthi
It's an MMORPG, they generally all involve one common thing.... A team of characters that shine in different ways; you get a dasp for the BB Slow effect, you have a rex that can do the DPS when it catches up, you have a bleeder.... A venom.... A flyer to track This game isn't and never will be The Isle, it's trying to infact do quite the oppositve. You want a tank, you want an assassin, you want ranged, you want healers...... Remind you of anythijg like..... An MMORPG? Which is what it is.... MMORPGs also involve ALOT of tactics such as; using a teammate to scare off pounced enemies, using the environment, using your wrinkly brain... They also involve a lot of balancing, so thanks to everybody crying about it you can probably expect another nerf to raptors, it's not like they lost their bleed or anything so you can infact run away or run at them.... No not at all Heard this whinging yesterday "Mid tiers too slow to outrun" yet killed a pack of 5 with my allo and a pack of 4 with an dasp Cera can pretty much two tap them with a charged bite and then some They may aswell remove laten and deinon because they were useless before and people are trying to make them useless again
Yeah the biggest disappointment in this community, pvp-wise, is that they just spam mixpack apexes. I never see these groups take advantage of, in example, stampede mechanics or any support dinos. So when I ask in global if anyone needs a Metri, Struthi, etc. I just get ignored.
Kentros, stegos, pachy, and alio got majorly screwed this patch all bc of the pounce change for raptors. Pachy and alio used to bully raptors, now they’re just walking meat chunks. At least ano got a deserved and meaningful nerf. It’s actually fun to play again because the aoe is reasonable.
Running speed sub is now my thing.. I hate to be chased and caught by deinonychus and Alio with other 2 sub as Struthi. Pounce isn't to be worried using DB Ampelo.
