Even more history: Myōkō was the lead ship of the four-member Myōkō class of heavy cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy, which were active in World War II. She was named after Mount Myōkō in Niigata Prefecture. The other ships of the class were Nachi, Ashigara, and Haguro. The class was modernized twice before the outbreak of the Pacific War. The first modernization program, carried out between 1934-36, was the most extensive. The main armament was upgraded to the 203 mm (8 in) 2 GÔ versions and the 120mm guns replaced with eight 12.7 cm/40 Type 89 dual purpose guns in twin mounts. The single catapult was replaced with an aircraft deck that could accommodate three aircraft and two catapults. The fixed torpedo tubes in the hull were removed and two quadruple launchers carrying the Type 93 Long Lance torpedo were installed under the aircraft deck. The torpedo bulges were extended to increase stability. The modifications added 680 tons of displacement and reduced speed to 34 knots (63 km/h; 39 mph). Anti-aircraft protection was increased to eight 13mm machine guns in two quadruple mounts. The second modernization in 1939 added an additional two quadruple torpedo launchers and enhanced light anti-aircraft armament with the introduction of the Type 96 25mm gun. The aircraft catapults were upgraded to handle heavier floatplanes and the torpedo bulges were enlarged to increase stability. The class would receive upgrades during the Second World War to reflect the growing threat of aircraft in the form of numerous Type 96 25mm gun and air and surface search radar, Myōkō eventually receiving 52 25mm autocannons in various single, double, and triple mounts. The two aft quadruple torpedo mounts were removed in 1944 to allow for the growing number of anti-aircraft armament. Love your work Spartan

It's not a gun boat... think of the IJN cruisers as their destroyer counter part and play them as such. They are hit and run concealment driven ships. Their concealment helps the captain determine the engagement as well as why the torps are located at the rear. As for the alpha strike and fire chance of the HE. Hit disappear drop torps hit. Rinse repeat. They aren't dodgy gun boats as they cannot take the pounding of anything larger than 356mm at range. Believe me this is my favorite line and been waiting for the Zao since this game has released. In today's meta concealment for this line is essential. GL Captains.
Myōkō was laid down at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal on 25 October 1924, launched and named on 16 April 1927 in a ceremony attended by Emperor Hirohito, and was commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy on 31 July 1929. Although the first ship in her class to be laid down, she was the third to be completed.

Myoko is good except the fact for can’t dodge and because of that and it’s armor it gets ☢️ by battleships and cruisers. Actually, that’s like most of the Japanese cruisers.
My biggest problem with this ship is that the angle you have to give the enemy to get a full broadside of is ridiculous like you have to be almost full broadside to the enemy no matter if pushing or kiting away
Also can you show default commanders that we can use with there inspirations in the path to videos so for ua who dont have the commanders shown can help alot good video by the way

I didn't unlock this ship, I played the game from the start but stopped and restarted lat year and missed a lot of great ship but I own the eastern dragon, is it different at any point from the myoko ? Because I feel like the stats are exactly the same, is it just the camo of the ship ?
