Opening and reviewing the Dungeon Starter Set for the Pathfinder Flip-Tiles by Paizo.
Having enjoyed the expansion set of Paizo's new Flip-Tiles, I got the starter set to go with it. This contains much more mundane dungeon tiles, but the basics needed to fill out a dungeon environment. They have options on both sides of the 6"x6" tiles, and are coated to allow both wet and dry erase markers to work with them.

greetings from 2022... just bought the beginner box 2e - looking at all the cool pathfinder stuff and these look great. I already have their giant blank mat but these look like they would be great

I eventually decided I like the flip-mats better for 2d terrain, as those don't require prep and these do - but these definitely add a bit more visual interest than a quick drawing on a mat if you have time to prep beforehand.

The one big issue I have with these Dungeon tiles, is that don’t think any of the Rectangle Dungeons tiles could even fit in this box. And that sucks a lot of ass! There is a lot of potential with this stuff, but it takes a lot of effort to effectively use these suckers!

I agree, after gathering a decent collection, I've really noticed how much work it can be to make use of them. And, no, the old style of tiles that were only printed on one side will certainly not fit in the box.

I already have the Reincarnated D&D tile sets (2 Wilderness, 2 Towns and 1 Dungeon), but I think, I’ll go with Paizo’s sets instead. There just more to them, I think. What are your thougts on this, Adam? Which series do you prefer? Btw, if you put for instanse cardboard underneath the Paizo’s flip-tiles, so they have the same elevation as the D&D’s, then they should be compatible, right? Thanks again for your videos. 😊👍👍

If not more of Paizo's sets currently, there will be as they are actively supporting the line and Wizards just reprinted some of the old stuff they had from 4th edition. I prefer the Pathfinder tiles, but the main reason is because they blend seamlessly with the Pathfinder Flip-mats, and there are some great preplanned environments available for that line. As far as blending the two sets, it would function in that they both use one inch markings and all of the lines would line up, but the colors and textures would be noticeably different.

JadekindGaming I don’t like the 2D scenery from the D&D line (for instance, a drawn tavern counter in one of the city tiles), since I use 3D scenery. Thus I prefer “naked” tiles. That’s one reason, why I’m considering the Paizo’s line instead. Btw, have you heard about this company: Red Dragon Tabletop Gaming, located in the UK? They make pretty cool looking flip tiles, and I think they might go well with the D&D tiles. I only found out about them yesterday. 🙂 reddragongaming.co.uk/ourshop/
