Pathfinder Ministries of the Gulf Field of the Middle East and North Africa Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, invites you to watch this Pathfinder Basic Staff Training Course (BSTC) for Pathfinder Officers.
The trainer for this course is Pr. Simon Siew, Former Youth Director for the Southern Asia Union Mission (SAUM), the position he held from 2001 - 2015.
The Pathfinder Ministry is a department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which works specifically with the cultural, social and religious education of children and teens. Boys and Girls 10-15 years can become members of Pathfinder Clubs spread all over the world. Membership in the Pathfinder Club is open to both Seventh-day Adventist young people as well as non-Adventists and non-Christian young people.
To help run the clubs smoothly and efficiently, the Pathfinder Ministry provides training for staff and volunteers involved in leading the local clubs. These trainings include the Pathfinder Basic Staff Training Course (BSTC), also known as Basic Staff Training (BST) or Pathfinder Staff Training (PST).
The Pathfinder Club Basic Staff Curriculum is designed to develop an awareness in leaders of the fundamentals of the Pathfinder Club and to help the Pathfinder Club staff become familiar with the procedures, policies, and resources necessary to start and maintain a Pathfinder Club Ministry.
Participants will attend a minimum of 10 hours of instructional lectures, discussions and activities broken up into smaller segments ranging from 30 minutes to two hours per seminar.
It is mandatory that all Pathfinder and Adventurer staff attend Basic Staff training. It is recommended that all staff, including Master Guides, attend the Pathfinder Staff Training every 3 years as a refresher course to help them stay current.
This Basic Staff Training Course is a prerequisite to the Master Guide Leadership Course. All Master Guides in Training (MITs) must complete the Pathfinder Staff Training as part of their training to become full Master Guides.
Senior Pathfinders enrolled in the Guide Class are also expected to attend this conference sponsored Pathfinder Basic Staff Training Course as part of their class requirements.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a completion certificate as well as a signature on their Guide and Master Guide cards or record books.
