Every year, there are around 140.000 people receiving a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in Europe.This type of digestive cancer is particularly challenging. Lack of early signs and symptoms hinder its early diagnosis, while its treatment remains difficult. With a five-year survival rate in the single digits, it is known as one of the world’s deadliest cancers. Meaning many people with pancreatic cancer sadly pass away too early. I wish this was my uncle’s story. He died of Pancreatic cancer in 1991. He was only 48 and was my favourite uncle. I was only 14 and it broke me. He fought so hard, and was so brave throughout. I never once heard him complain.
