I’ve been living with this for 6 years after a MVA. The pain is excruciating

See I don't have any pain but like... my bones constantly pop in and out. They found foraminal narrowing in several points one being moderate but like... basically I have to constantly adjust my cervical bones against an object or pillow.. its like popping my head back on... its enough to where when its out it gives me trouble breathing . did yours pop like that? I notice if I drink like 20 ounces of water or more at a time it kind of makes it less severe ... I'm wondering if after a traumatic event I like didn't drink much water over about a year and poor posture. It sucks. This is like my 6th or 7th year. Doctor wouldnt give me an MRI ... wanted me to go to PT... but im like... I have to do my own PT everyday.

@@tonypepperoni229 I get sharp pain between my shoulder blades that i think is related to my stenosis, as it usually leads to more neck pain. If i can get my back to crack, the pain isn't as bad. I drink more than 60oz of water a day, it helps only with the muscle tension, but my pain isn't strictly muscle pain

@@tonypepperoni229 hi, take a look at Caring Medical channel about prolotherapy. If your ligaments are stretched that can cause your bones popping out, prolotherapy can help fix that.

I had a full cervical laminectomy with decompression and fusion done 30 years ago stenosis was severe cervically also found throughout thoracic down through lumbar thoracic 1 through 4 was fused to prevent hump and possible further pain problems.. was given a class a staph infection during this major surgical process and spent 9 months in the hospital recovering with having two strokes one heart attack while the surgery was being done had two subsequent surgeries to correct scar tissue caused by the infection.. the whole goddamn thing failed and now I live my life in extraordinary pain down my arms into my legs throughout my shoulders I'm weak with slight paralysis on the left side of my body.. everyone tells me there's nothing more that can be done.. so I spend my life using opioids to relieve the pain levels which does work and there is no problem with addiction there is no problem with any of that without it I would be in a true detrimental hell.. I am now in my early 60s and I do not feel well the problems I have are extensive and no one seems to want to pay any attention to it any longer whether it's because there are no procedures that are recommended or the fact that I am now in my early sixties just don't understand.. so I continue on day by day by day.. so much for full cervical fusion with decompression and laminectomy if you can avoid this please do it at all costs it will ruin and turn your life into one of total statuism and uselessness

I am so sorry to hear how this worked out for you. Unfortunately, your story is not unheard of and this is why I dedicated my practice to endoscopic surgery without doing a fusion. Some people have such extensive problems that endoscopic surgery isn't appropriate.

Wow, I've been living with this condition for 30 years and just get put on pain killers. Had nerve block but didn't work and my local GP surgery refused to refer me to a specialist other than a pain clinic . I changed surgery and saw a new doctor who referred me to a neurologist but the pain clinic told me it's unlikely I'll be offered any kind of surgery so I'm just in pain 24/7 with no help at all. I'm from the UK. Glad to hear you got the right help over there. It seems impossible here. 30 years is a long time to be jn severe pain:(

I still have problems with foraminal stenosis 9 years down the line - I had ACDF c3/4 and c6/7 for cervical stenosis with myelopathy, followed only a few years later by a foraminotomy and laminectomy on c7/T1, now am having probs with osteophyte at c5/6. I haven't had a pain free day in all that time. It's constant unrelenting pain with spasms in arms, my hand dexterity is becoming very bad and neurosurgeon is suggesting yet more surgery,. Am apprehensive about this tbh.

I had a laminectomy fusion on my low back and I guarantee you this if there was another way other than what it was back in 2000 when I had this I opted out for that in a big way. I hurt so bad to this day but I have learned to just kind of override the pain and just pushed through everyday just make the best of everything I can and that's what I've done. On top of all of this I have osteo arthritis let me tell you something when I say it's mean it is mean. Between everything that I have which is just generative disc disease osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis and I was diagnosed with that when I was 30 years old and I am now 60 and a half and let me tell you I feel like I'm 90 I really really really do. I worked six days this past week and I got off on Monday night and Tuesday and Wednesday which is Wednesday today all I could do was just lay in bed and I cried because I hurt so damn bad until you have a silver arthritis or until you have any kind of degenerative disease Dwayne makes you feel in your body and your bones and I'm saying your bones your bones feel like they're 90 years old and you're only 40 it's really hard and it is really really hard I remember when I had my first cat scan when I was 30 years old and they told me your bones are that over 60 years old. I just turned 30.

I've been diagnosed with degenrative disk disease and moderate bilateral encroachment on c4-5 and c5-6. I'm 30 years old and the doctors say I just need to wait to recover and that I'm too young for surgery. What can I do to get the surgery ?

I have a question I got hurt back on OCT 31 2021 falling ladder came down and crash hit the back of my neck and head ok, I have a lot of pain, so this is what the test I got on the first of March 2022. this is what they told me? Cervical spine MRI demonstrates moderate left foraminal narrowing at C3-4. C4-5 spondylolisthesis with bilateral foraminal narrowing. C5-6 is degenerative with reversal of the curvature, retrolisthesis, moderate spinal and mild bilateral foraminal stenosis. C6-7 moderate bilateral foraminal stenosis. So I have a lot of pain all the time.

Hi i have experience severe neck pains, back pains, headache, ear pain and nausea at time. I had a CT scan and an MIR performed. the results of the MRI were "Significant thickening of the posterior atlantoaxial ligament complex with minimal irregularity of the adjacent posterior aspect of the dens and indentation of the ventral cord at this level. This may be aggravated dynamically resulting in neurological symptoms." the doctors told me that something is wrong with my c1 and c2, the suggested i wear a collar but it just makes the pain worse. i tested negative for Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. I use to go for physio, but my orthopedic surgeon told me to stop, pls help

I'm in a lot of pain and have been for 4 years, so I took the plunge, then covid 19 showed its ugly face. My cervical spine is narrowed c3/4 c4/5 c5/6 c6/7 with osseus bars and osteophytic bars. I'm in excruciating pain. On morphine and loads of painkillers. 4 times it's been cancelled to see the neurosurgeon it's now interrupting with my vision, headaches from hell. Numbness in my hands, pain around my shoulders in my arms hands . God's know how much longer I can bear it. Thinking a outing going private. The long waits on the NHS 😭😭😭

This is just a patient impression. Surgery used a posterior approach to trim bone that caused foraminal stenosis. The decompression gave the exiting nerve some breathing room.

What is the difference between cervical forminal stenosis and cervical stenosis?
@coryzirk5299

Forminal stenosis is impingement of the nerve where the nerve exits the spinal canal. Spinal stenosis is in the spinal canal.

Is this progressive? I just revised my scan from a few years ago. It mentions loss of dosc space C5-C6 with mild left foraminal stenosis. Recently in the last year or so my neck has gotten worse and I'm experiencing tingling and numbness in my thumb and sometimes the pointer.
