Such a beautiful scene. It brings back such strange, and wonderful memories for me. I remember seeing this movie ages ago....and the way it pulled me in. Deep deep down. I swear.....feeling it like this, again.....my heart beats 5 times per minute. It just slows me down. I wish more movies had the courage to be slow, and beautiful like this more often. It gives such better emotions than constant explosions and violence.
this conjures up an image of broken dreams and ambition that never happened. shelved plans, ageing skyscrapers and tower blocks standing silently over crime and corruption on the street, cold and with no emotion. structures that gave hope for the future, but turned stale and derelict. all the inhabitants in and below it trapped in a concrete jungle, some through their own choice, some not.
I Bought this anime Soundtrack YEARS ago because KK always knows how to set a mood, an environment. Hes not afraid to be slow and deliberate and soooo atmospheric. I Still listen to my CD of Patlabor 2 very often. The other tracks on the CD are *ALL* just as ethereal.
The first Album I ever bought was the Demon records release (had to import it from the UK to my local Cocanotes music store) was this album. That was about 1996/97, and it remains one of the best buys I've ever made music wise. I just wish more people remembered the film series.
Always loved this scene from the movie, funny its something i always remember when i think of Patlabor...this song and these scenes. Since the movie came out it never misses to hypnotize me @.@ on those few minutes...

When i listen to this it's like being caught in an genjitsu(anyone who watch's naruto know's what i mean).I just can't move and stop staring at the screen until the song finish's.AMAZING
