Following Thanksgiving break, the crew discussed one of favorite reoccurring topics: humans vs. robots and the algorithm game. They began
the podcast talking about the devotion that people have with Patreon, how Twitter works, and the workings of the Clubhouse app. After lightly touching on Janet Jackson’s career, which would also loom throughout the episode, but would create a nice Segway to the Ghislaine Maxwell trial with all the CEOs stepping down and what that level of power means.
Later, in the actual Patreon page, the gang would discuss the dislike button being taken off from RU-vid and how it effects the algorithms, which brings about how the gang feels that effecting the podcast numbers. In a sort of conspiracy theory atmosphere, they all come into agreement that the numbers are bought and worked through robots, beating the human listeners, hence the title of the episode.

Ice was correct. A comic book (which I read) is a different medium than a movie. Certain things from the origins of some of these characters need to be changed to make sense for modern audiences. A nigga who never read a Harry Potter book but, loves the movies has a valid opinion of the medium he is consuming. Reading a book and then watching a movie doesn't give you a better opinion. All it does is let you compare two different versions of a story.

51:04 Been a comic fan since the 90s. In the world of comics origins are changed over time and things are rebooted. There are various writers and artists working on the characters over the years. The movies take the spirit of the character modernize the origin and put it into the context of the movie universe.I think the only problem would be if the characters weren't portrayed correctly. As long as they get the spirit of the character it's just like a new issue of a comic 🤷.

The talk on the mixed thanksgiving, where different ppl and cultures meets for the first time. Its the first time where it's gonna be an extended stay event. Nobody is in dippin in and out, you gonna have to say more than just hello and goodbye. These moments usually are good until the drinks come out. In Wisconsin one is expected to be at least buzzed by the time you arrive. This part of the show was entertaining bc I've been in these situations as a white guy. One of my cousins married this fine Jamaican chick with a thick accent made conversing a challenge.

The purpose of Movies, TV & Games is to take the very best aspects from the comics & make the best product possible. Not to necessarily make a shot for shot/panel for panel remake. As long as you keep the soul of the characters & the spirit of the story in tact, you can tweak certain things here & there. Plus there’s almost 80 years worth of material to pull from, with numerous runs from different authors & artists different interpretations of every characters. Brian Michael Bendis run on Spider-Man probably isn’t guna look or read the same as the classic 60’s-90’s runs from Stan Lee & Todd McFarlane.

Netflix shows were not a part of the MCU... hence the reason they never named the Avengers. The big green guy, the alien invasion, etc. I'm a big fan of both and just FYI to Joe, the MCU is predominantly based in the Marvel Ultimate universe, not the 616 universe.

Black families getting together is not going away... I remember on one episode when they were like "we should stop saying nigga". I feel that was because its weird and embarrassing having some Spanish or white chick calling you nigga in front of your family. That's not MOST Black peoples experience.

Ice is COMPLETELY right about the difference between the MCU and the Marvel Comics. they're not the same...they don't follow the story faithfully haha! Even the Netflix world wasn't the same until recently. The cinematic rights etc is different. the Punisher is technically not in the MCU yet haha! The reality is comic books and movies are different mediums. not everything can move seamlessly between comic books and movies. Parks is COMPLETELY right with his Batman take haha! As a comic book fan and Comic book movie fan - Ice and Parks are completely right.

Batman started in Detective comics and his history and origin story were retconned along with numerous other comic book characters. Superman used to be just a SUPER Man.

The term here that should be used for purism is "canon." Most works outside of the originals are not considered canon and that is okay, as long as the integrity of the original is maintained. This is how there are alt universes of all your favorites, Superman, Spider-Man Spider-Man, Batman. It's because the cannon story is allowed to maintain It's origin, while the variants are allowed to move into new directions.

Marvel was sold to Disney in 09' so that gave them creative control over Stan Lee's creations, all them cameos were just a respect thing I doubt he had a a lot creative input.
