The tone of the guitar and effects, his vibrato, and that chord progression are straight out of 1960. Also Em is ridiculously sexy and their voices blend so well it's crazy.

You seem like a renaissance type fellow - so I'm sure you've heard of The Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition - a personality/psychological paradigm in which the Optimist is one of 9 basic types - it defines optimism as a compulsion based on the fear of pain - it is a fear type, head type that has a basic need for happiness. Using that profile to measure music is - I believe - limiting, and reductive. Can hearing Mozart's Requiem be reduced to a positive or negative experience - of course, it can be, but was that why it was written - to be positive? Can Bob Dylan, or Joni Mitchell's music be summarized as positive or negative, happy or sad - I suppose so. Beyond optimism (or pessimism) is reality and realism. You've reviewed Billie Eilish fairly, but summing up her music and that of some other artists as positive or negative, optimistic or pessimistic, or happy or sad is obviously where you are coming from - do you think songwriters/artists are writing music with the goal of it being happy or sad, or positive? Should they be?
