Baghdad, Lebanon & Iran all used to be places for tourism from the '50's to the '70's and then it just went downhill. Venezuela used to be the richest country in the western hemisphere if I'm not mistaken...now because of financial mismanagement, corruption, communism and a couple of dictators, it hit 2 MILLION PERCENT INFLATION. It's sad to see all of that.
@@philipdenhaag9670 🙄🙄 same bullshit excuses from you Marx-defenders every time the failures of socialist policies is brought up. The sanctions isn't what killed Venezuela, the catastrophically corrupt authoritarian government did.
@@philipdenhaag9670 It’s a mix of both. We definitely interfered in Iran leading to the Shah but I’d bet almost anything that the Iranian students of ‘79 largely blame themselves for how the country looks today. I mean, they voluntarily ushered into power a dictatorship far worse than the Shah. Now their entire family suffers the consequence of their own actions. Venezuela also not a great example. Have we interfered? Yes. Did we tell them to print limitless money? No. That was insane and is always doomed to fail - which is why it’s so staggering to see virtually the entire Democratic Party buy into modern monetary theory. At this point, with record inflation it should be abundantly clear to anyone that MMT doesn’t work. So what does the White House and DNC propose? Print more money to alleviate the burden of Americans whose money has been devalued due to printing an excess amount of money. Now just imagine if the Democrats/media had gotten their way on Build Back Better…we’d have runaway hyperinflation. Yet during that entire debate inflation wasn’t even mentioned by the media once. Why? Their primary objective is getting Democrats into power. How do we know that? Just look at trust in media polls and CNN’s ratings. Clearly they know that if they were less partisan and more objective they’d gain far more viewers. They refuse to do that though because of a political agenda that’s been explicitly outlined on undercover video by CNN producers. It’s not just in the money either. We currently have a shortage of about 5 million homes, hence the dramatic increasing in housing costs. So what does the Biden admin do with the media’s support? They open the border thereby leading to a 980% increase in illegal crossings. How does that help our housing shortage again? Oh, it doesn’t. So what do we do with all these illegals? We give them money, housing, and in many states better medical care than you or I would receive. They then go to work at lower wages thereby suppressing the wages of American workers, particularly black Americans, before sending a huge chunk of that earned cash back to their home countries rather than spend it in America. Absolute madness. We’re the dumbest collection of voters in human history. And yes, that edible I took four hours ago still has me all sorts of fucked up.
it always comes down to banking and international finance . if you don't become their debt slavery they will destroy you one way or another the large corporations coming in is just a tool of the banks they don't want to take your resources and leave the want to Inslave and control you with usuary . usary was illegal for 1000s of years
I had two Iranian sister roommates in Rome, Italy. Their parents visited me. Theyremember what it was like pre-Revolution. I was invited to visit Tehran. These kind of people are all for human freedom especially for women. Those women are so beautiful.
You must not know how caged Americans really are for christ sakes their about to close all countries even Canada and Mexico its mind boggling we are in prisoned the war revolution has begun!! All over a shot!!
Pat appreciate you talking about Iran’s modern history but with all due respect your information is very limited and sometimes inaccurate. It wasn’t Ardeshir who remove Mosadegh from his power. It was his father Fazlollah Zahedi who gave Mossadegh the message on behalf of Shah.
Correction, it was Ardeshir Zahedi's father an army officer who helped with the overthrow of Mosadegh in support of the Shah. There are other inaccuracies in what Patrick is saying here. A little research before the blog would have been helpful.
You can thank Obama for that, I’ve met a lot of people from the Middle East who love the Syrian dictator for example because he made a vow that his parents wouldn’t live in a house until every resident in the country had a place of their own and stayed true to his word
@@RK-jc5ey how'd that turn out for them? 🙄 You certainly aren't referring to the current Syrian dictator, since his parents ruled the country with an iron fist for three decades and would not have been in need of a house. Hafez's parents weren't in need of a house either, as his father held a position in the government after French withdrawal.
Iran was going to beat even Japan in progression and modernity. Shah said in his last interview that only a few countries can be in the course of highest modernization and technology untill 2000 and Iran must be in that course. ‘sad’ دمت گرم پاتریک جان حال میکنم درباره ایران سخن میگی
I don't think life in Japan is any good, but only filled with worst forms socio-moral degeneracy. Many Japanese hate their lives and their population is one of the fastest declining ones in the world
@@benjaminbloom7069 what's the use of having such a great economy and industry if the quality of the life of people continues to deteriorate. The shah had put Iran on the same morally degenerate path which materially would have been great but only filled social and moral chaos and depression and socio-cultural degeneracy in the society as we're seeing in Japan, Korea and the west.
1. his father got rid of mosadeq, General Fazlolah Zahedi. 2. Shahnaz is Shah's Daughter from Fawzieh princess of egypt. so he was son in law of shah for a while.
The Shah certainly painted a picture of a wealthy happy nation, but some mass of the population could not have been happy, perhaps not loving the standard of life expected by the image given by the elite.
I mean people have it pretty good in America but a lot of people are pretty convinced they're the most oppressed people to have ever lived. People are easy to manipulate.
"Confessions of an Economic Hitman" is literally a work of self reflection. Oh but he questioned DT? Then you don't need to point out how, just assume that anyone who questions DT is not objective and can't self reflect. Yeah, you're not in a cult.
Pat acts as if Iran was a paradise when the Shah was in power. It wasn't. There's a reason there was a revolution. Neither the Shah's regime nor the Islamic regime care about the people. Iranians want and deserve a democracy that values human rights.
The Shah was a upstanding man and he was trying to make Iran a modern prosperous country. The only people who hated him was the 5 century islamist! That is why in Reza Pahlevi RU-vid interviews there is a massive outpouring of love for him by Iranians in the comment section! That is why in the mass uprisings Iranians are holding signs proclaiming their love for him! Was the Shaw perfect? no.
anyone knows why we put comment on his posts??? while he doesnt give a shit at all, I have never seen even a single reply from him to anybody. when people get famous they dont give a shit about their audience while before this, they were seeking subscribers.
Mossadegh was not a socialist, we was more a nationalist, who believed in equitable share in oil profits. He was a big fan of the US and constantly went to the US to support with the requests versus the British. In fact, Truman was against British mechinations for a coup.
As a member of the Muslim community, I have often heard the same tired stereotypes and misconceptions about my faith and its practitioners. One of these misconceptions is the idea that "most terrorists are Muslims." This assertion made by Patrick Bet-David is not only offensive, but it is also factually incorrect. First, let's consider the definition of terrorism. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a terrorist is someone who uses violence for political objectives. However, in the fields of political science and international relations, there is no consensus on the definition of terrorism. For the purposes of this discussion, let's define terrorism as the targeting or killing of non-combatants for political objectives. When we look at the historical record for the past 2000 years, it is difficult to make the case that the Islamic civilization, in whatever way we define it, has been the leading perpetrator of terrorism. In fact, research by Navid Sheikh has shown that other groups and individuals have been responsible for the majority of terrorist attacks. Furthermore, the idea that most terrorists are Muslims is simply not supported by the data. According to the Global Terrorism Index, in 2019, only 8% of terrorist attacks were attributed to Islamic extremist groups. This is a small minority compared to other groups such as ethnonationalist and separatist groups, which accounted for 37% of attacks. It is important to recognize that the actions of a few individuals or groups should not be used to paint an entire religion or community with the same brush. To do so is not only unfair, but it also reinforces harmful stereotypes and contributes to the marginalization of Muslims. As a member of the Muslim community, I urge others to challenge their own biases and to seek out accurate information about Islam and Muslims. It is only through education and understanding that we can hope to break down the barriers of misunderstanding and build a more compassionate and accepting society.
John did not know what was going on in other countries, LIKE THE USA!! In Portland OR where I lived in the late 1970s, there was all this Arabic Graffiti. And it was always about 2 paragraphs long! On the sides of underpasses... We knew something was up in Portland OR as me and my dad drove by going to mow somebody's lawn or something... IMHO
In the 1980's the taliban was proped up and made strong by usa/cia and literally propped up osama bin laden because they wanted to contain ussr which was invading afghanistan
Let's not forget that this was not a coup but a revolution meaning the people wanted the Shah gone as he was seen as an American puppet and someone who was spreading immorality as many Iranians were quite religious. The reason why Iran has not progressed as much is due to all the sanctions and roadblocks that America and its allies have put in its way. Get rid off the sanctions and watch Iran prosper. It has one of the most highly educated population in the world that could make it become the next Japan but America wouldn't allow that
Pure willful ignorance. The reason that Iran is struggling is not because of the US sanctions (which aren't enforced by Europe and are actively evaded by China) but because the theocrats have enriched themselves to the tune of billions and billions of dollars. Look up the net worth of the Ayatollah and his minions in the Shura Council now and at the time of the Revolution. Same thing that the corrupt socialists did in Latin America and the Russian oligarchs when the Soviet Union fell and they privatized.
He's not worth much. If you're referring to the billions that's been reported that he's in control of then that's as the supreme leader. Iran has a two tier political system; the parliament and the supreme leader and his position controls a lot of assets. When he passes away then it will simply transfer to the next leader and not his children. Same as what happened with ayatollah Khomeini
We're that the case, then other nations with sanctions would not have progressed, and that's clearly not the case. Iran has a leadership that sponsors, trains and equips terrorist groups. Iran's leadership sees it as legitimate warfare, when the reality is that its just murder in the name of their beliefs.
Iran in the 1970s was a very backward country. It was a single product economy only exporting unrefined petroleum. The Shah who was placed in power by the British and the CIA after overthrowing Mosaddegh in the coup of 1953 was a stooge taking orders from the US, Britain and Israel. Iran under the Shah, was not even able to keep an accounting of its sale of petroleum. The Shah could do nothing of significance in world affairs, without first asking his handlers for permission. Female adult literacy more than tripled - from 24 percent in 1976 to 81 percent in 2016. Females who finished primary education increased from 36 percent in 1971 to 99 percent in 2017. The percentage of females in higher education (tertiary) increased by nearly 20 times - from 3 percent in 1978 to 59 percent in 2018.
Shah was western backed, I understand it was flashy back then but the people chose who they wanted. The people knew the Shah was just a puppet, even with today's regime Iran is very powerful and could have a wealthy middle class if the USA wasn't making it hard with impossible sanctions and Israel wasn't constantly assassinating top Iranian minds. The majority of the populace there have respect for their regime, you cannot possibly blame the regime for wanting nuclear weapons when it's only fair they have since their nemesis Israel has weapons of mass destruction pointed towards Iran and its allies. Look at Lebanon, Israel has not stopped trying to destroy it with civil wars (phalangists), invasions and most probably had something to do with the port of Beirut. Iran has no choice but to have a strong hand leading it considering their enemies USA and Israel. As soon as the regime falls USA WILL make Iran a wasteland like they did with Iraq Syria Libya Afghanistan and more.
Ignorant conspiracy theorist abound over there, largely because the media is state-run and censored. The Iranian regime exists only via authoritarian control and violent repression of opposition. China actively helps Iran avoid those US sanctions and Europe is lackadaisical in enforcing them (and turning a blind eye when violated). The real reason for Iran's financial problems is the horrendous greed and corruption of the ruling theocrats, who have amassed billions of dollars of wealth for themselves. Your "top minds" keep getting assassinated because they keep pursuing nuclear weapons for a regime that has actively stated their goal of wiping another country off the map. Lebanon has not has Israelis on their soil for decades, the disaster in Lebanon these days is directly attributable TO IRAN and their meddling via Syrian intermediaries. Israel had nothing to do with the Beirut explosion and any assertions that it did is finger-in-the-ear idiocy. Corruption and mismanagement by incompetent officials -- as usual -- was the cause there. Afghanistan was always a wasteland, the western intervention in Libya was led by Europe, not the US, and the Syrian conflict only continues because the dictator is propped up by Iran and Russia.
