Kane has given everything to Chicago, he doesn’t owe us anything anymore, hope he finds success in Detroit, stays healthy, and that every team he plays with treats him as the GOAT he is
@@Creatorfragments I'm from Michigan originally but I remember -- well actually I was dating a girl with the last name Kane while the player was hitting his prime. Loved watching him play so one night I drove from Grand Rapids to Chicago to watch them play. They won in OT on his game winner. Would have been like 2016. I just moved to Illinois so I have been an unabashed Bedard and Blackhawks fan. Kind of gave up on the Wings but ironically Kane is the reason I'm going to be following them again.
@@golfer371 Notice he does not look worried -at all- ? Meanwhile everyone else has a level of disbelief like this guy is 39 or 40 and a total has-been. I totally agree with you
@@golfer371 I love that both he and the organization are setting really low expectations though. It's good for him and takes a lot of pressure off. I think he's going to be fucking insane for Detroit.
Yzerman made a smart decision, the organization had to make sure his hip will be good, if it is he will try to extend the deal but Patrick could put himself out for sale to the highest bidder.
I love Kane too one of my favourite players for sure not a fan of the red wings but I hope he does good for them I wish the best for the red wings and Kane
Can't wait to see him w the winged wheel...Xmas may hv come early this yr, I hope & pray he returns to form & lends a hand to getting back to the playoffs
I work with a usa hockey coach and former Wisconsin badger player, he said the dudes skates are baked but he is still a wizard with his hands. Absolute plus on the power play.
I’ve been trying to temper my expectations but all this buzz around Kane has me excited! I hope he can come back strong! If not that’s ok, but if he does! My wings are going to be nasty!!!!
I've always thought he would go Boston. But having him in Detroit is unreal. I always hated him but now he's with Detroit and I love it. Excited to see what's going to happen
Obviously people want him to be the player he was in 2015, and if he can be after several years then that’s amazing, but tbh even Kane at 70%, even 60%, of his prime should be a welcome addition to any NHL team looking for an offensive boost and playoff experience. Having been a huge part of the core of Blackhawks for his entire career so far (along with Toews, Keith, Hossa, etc.) he’s also grown into the quiet type of leader who may not say much in the locker room but leads by example. At least that’s what anyone who’s played on the Hawks say. Wishing him all the best in Detroit. If anyone can make it work after a procedure like this, it’s Kaner.
hoping for the best but i have no expectations. all i know is, if it's possible to have this procedure and be a productive NHL player afterwards, THIS guy will do it. if he can't do it, no one is going to do it, ever.
@user-qw2gf5lf5t if you do make the playoffs and that's a big if considering they fell apart last year too, they'll get swept or lose in 5. They're not a threat whatsoever blowing leads to teams like montreal and Buffalo barely escaping with a win
Im excited to see him in the NHL. I just worry gor his his future Hip healith. Like is it worth it now if you cant walk in ten years. But these guys are the absolute examole of health so good luck.
anyone else get the vibe than the interviewer was being slightly smug and rude towards Hatrick Kane? From the slight smirk at the end of sentence to the eye movements when talking about surgery. IDK could just be me
As a divorced Father of 3 who/he was one of the last favorites of my life. I root for this man. I’m 43 now and we all getting older. Sergei Fedorov was my favorite but Kaner could be #2. Enjoy your life Patrick but also enjoy your time in Detroit.
if the blackhawks took patrick kane back and connor bernard and got toews back i think they could make one more run with all three of those players they should have been life time blackhawks
Kane is great, but the real goat is yzerman. Thank you Stevie for making us contenders again and a team that superstars take massive pay cuts to be on.
The 1 year deal was probably a "prove your worth" move on Yzerman's part. If he plays well extend him, if not then its only a year and that's it. If he plays well but Detroit won't make the playoffs then he might get traded at the deadline
Razor the late ray emery had hip surgery , worked with a trainer who the leafs let go and came back and was even better in net , alot harder as a tendy so if his trainer and rehab people were good than kaner should have no issue getting past pearly white modano
@GM_1319 you're gonna hate Yzerman when detroit ends up being the minnesota wild of the east, good enough to be a wildcard team and nothing more. No playoff success on the horizon whatsoever with Ben chiarot and petry playing quality minutes lmao
@HunterMagunter lol I really don't understand where all this is coming from. I'm sure you know better than all of the management with the Red Wings. And comparing them to Minnesota? Lol, what have the Wild ever done? There's a reason it's called Hockeytown you salty clown. Be more upset 😆😆
@@HunterMagunteryeah obviously we don't have to trust Yzerman's hockey knowledge and overall skills as a GM for the trust of a salty random from RU-vid graduated from the University of armchair's GM's uh ? 🎉🎉
As a Hawks fan, this is just his demeanor. In front of cameras, he has a quiet confidence. But on the ice, there is no mistaking his confidence in himself and his teammates. This is actually the most confident I think I have seen him in an interview, at least in a long time. By all accounts, he seems ready and eager to get back out there.
he seemed super confident until the first practice w the team. his tone after that as a longtime fan of his makes me very doubtful now. otoh, Lalonde after that didn't sound as bad about it.
I think Scotty personally coached 8 teams that were probably better. Those Blackhawks teams regularly lost in the first round and didn't even win their own division most years. Good teams, but not even close to best NHL teams ever.
Lol and he's wrong. Nobody else that's not a delusional homer would have any of those Blackhawks teams in the top 10 greatest teams of all time. Great teams, but not even close to top 10 all time.
We are ready for showtime in Detroit. People who aren’t from here don’t realize the hype that the wings and lions and tigers are beginning to generate after years of being below standard. #LGRW
He’s a 35 year old coming off major hip surgery. Lower your expectations. Good vet to have that knows how to win and should help out the power play but let’s not act like we just signed Auston Matthews.
That is still fantastic. And at 2.75M a year. I rather him not getting that many points this season and then sign an extension with the team at low AAV. Then explode next season. Remember he just came back from a major surgery so this might just be a recovery type of season to show he can still play. Expectation is low.
I don't wish any ill will on Kane or any player and he has earned the right to choose his team but this just reinforces the nauseating bias in favor of the wrongly named "original six". All of the hockey outlets do nothing but go on and on about how the NHL is better off when these six teams are good. In essence they all but write off the other 26. Detroit had its run. Chicago had its run (and yet ends up with Bedard).Kane gave it a shot in NY - so three out of six. Enough already. I cringe at the idea of Detroit making the playoffs and going on a run when there are four teams in the east that have never won a Cup and many others that are on 30+ year droughts. He has nothing left to gain in hockey yet is going to chase money for money's sake and almost guarantee living in pain the rest of his life while likely developing significant mobility issues as time goes on. Not sure it's worth it.
Alright kaner, you may have been one of the best players a couple years ago but come on, there is players in this league who are putting up a 100, 110, 120 and McDavid who put up 153 last season. Kane is NOT a top 5 player in the league. Not even a top 10. I hate to say it but he’s at best a Top 15.
Yzerman deals w pro athletes for a living and has been around them his whole life and made a point repeatedly of saying Kane takes care of himself incredibly well and is in amazing shape for an NHL player
