Well Julian Newman was kinda just unfortunate in that he chose to try to be an athlete, especially in basketball, when his entire family is 5' 5" - 5' 6" and under. If he was half a foot taller who knows what could have happened. But yeah, that one is on his parents - it's your responsibility as a parent to help him understand early on that size and height are huge factors in whether or not you have a future in basketball. Given that his dad is 5' 5" and his mom might not be 5', they totally screwed the pooch there. You gotta explain the reality of the situation and help him understand that he probably doesn't even have 5' 8" in his genes, which he didn't. Instead they clearly encouraged him to keep on that path regardless, which is cool - it's great to support your kids passions and dreams. But you need to establish the baseline reality as well because he clearly from day 1 never had a future in pro basketball because of his genetics

I said the said exact thing. Be yourself and don't try to be like anybody else. How many times did he say Patrick Mahomes in under 7 mins plus the title. That's a lot of pressure for this kid. What is he 9 or 10? I guess this kid is half black and half white so his parents are trying to have him look like Patrick too.

He was a rare black quarterback because when he got drafted both his mom and his dad were there. Most of the time when black pro players get drafted it only the mother and the siblings. Not being racist I’m black too. He was so clean cut and I just loved him. I don’t know what happened but things became ugly with him.

Patrick is already a father, that girlfriend of his set her web and caught that rich spider. He is 25 and a grown man. I understand that, and rich too. I just hope he is happy and stays happy. He has done so good for himself so far. What did they say, he stands to make 500 million over 10 years. Wow. Now if this kids can just go to the Super Bowl twice by the time he is 25, then he will really be like Patrick. All the luck in the world for that kids.

Having rich parents may make it easier to have success at a younger age but it doesn't buy natural ability and drive. People with rich parents have a safety net. People who grow up poor know they have to work hard or they'll wind up with nothing.

I grew up dirt poor, now my kid has rich parents. I think you’re just a jealous hater who doesn’t work hard to forge his own legacy.

Also, I’m sure his parents’ net worth totally has something to do with his hard work, drive, and obvious natural ability…………. 🙄
