Also he clearly said “good game” as they were approaching. He didn’t start talking about the call until after Josh had spoken in his ear for like three full seconds. That part of the clip has been omitted since the beginning, and makes it look way worse than it likely was.

@@bam0007 And the chiefs, they were doing it on the play Toney got flagged for. It could easily have been a double flag. The bigger problem with officiating the Eagles is how their tackles get to false start on almost every snap and never get called.
@bam0007
@bam0007 10 месяцев назад
@@Matuse the problem is obviously that we all want consistency. We want refs to call one way and every time if they are going to flag it. Idc if they give warnings or not you don't let someone do it the entire game and decide last second in a crucial moment that is when you are choosing to do it. If that's called in first quarter on the first time he does it this whole thing isn't an issue. In Dan's video he showed 8 times so if throws a flag on 7th time the 5 time none of this even happens. Also Taylor is still false starting sometimes which is getting called some of the time but not all but even the Bills tackle was false starting. And the main issue is people like Lane Johnson does it and it's NEVER called like that's very inconsistent. I get what people are saying Chiefs were in that group of teams that were getting away with things and now it's alot more rare. But everyone just wants calls to be made the same no matter who is on the field.
@drewmagnet
@drewmagnet 10 месяцев назад
The Tackles aren't false starting though by the letter of the law, they are allowed to move their back foot provided they are in a 2 point stance, so they can get an early start on their kickstep, as long as the back foot doesn't come down before the ball moves. The illegal formation is ridiculous with the T in the backfield.

I at one time in my life was a football official. Admittedly it was in high school not College not prose. However this is not the job of the official to tell the players and or the coach that they're breaking the rules. The wide receiver is a professional football player he should be well-versed in the rules and know what is allowed and what is not. I want to say that in the eclipse that orlovsky showed of this particular player number 19 being offsides on other calls from my perspective it was on the other side of the field not the side of the judge that through the flag. When you unofficial on a sideline and I was a headlines then that is your side of the field you're responsible for what you see and what penalties you see and throw the flag for. When you are responsible for that side that's what you do if you choose to tell the the coach who are the player that's your prerogative you don't have to do it.

Florio asking how none of the coaches ever noticed him being offsides just shows us all, yet again, how little he knows. So incredibly ignorant. There is so much going on for every single coach at any given moment, particularly pre-snap. They don’t have the luxury to sit and look at the players and where they’re precisely lining up are you joking?? I swear Florio sounds so stupid so often I just wonder…and to think he has a vote for NFL Honors. He has zero experience, doesn’t watch any film, couldn’t tell us if a defense was in man or zone and yet he impacts who wins MVP and the other awards. That’s an absolute travesty to the game seriously. That’s insanity. And same with Peter King. These guys know so little it’s mind-blowing and you see it everytime they’re opposite Chris Simms

I fully expected main stream sports media to fall into protection mode for Mahomes. This wasn’t just an overreaction, Florio . He had to be physically restrained from going after the sideline judge. He then had plenty of time to come to his senses before approaching the podium after the game, and instead doubled down on the same misguided stupidity and aggression. The time for Mahomes to offer words of regret, was when he stepped to that podium right after the game, not a day later. If Aaron Rodgers behaved that way, Florio would be ripping him a new one, calling on league for punishment , but Patrick Mahomes is the media golden boy

The amount minimizing and apologizing for some really shameful behavior by national talking heads is annoying af. Allen gets slandered seemingly every day and Hurts and Mahomes and others don't... while Allen has 3 more interceptions than Mahomes but 12 more touchdowns. It was spun into "oh Mahomes is just so passionate about the game" and "oh. he wasn't really mad at the refs. He's mad at the receivers and taking it out on the refs." The reason they have had to scrounge for receivers is because Mahomes took a deal that made him the 2nd highest player in the league. He still has arguably the greatest offensive mind as HC and one of the greatest tight ends of all time while they've invested in a top OLine to protect him and an elite defense to take the pressure off of him, which it has. The NFL has a hard cap. You pay that many guys that much money and you have to scrape together the rest from the bargain aisle. Again it was always "Josh Allen's contract gets him paid from this year they're going to have a hard time adding around him" when he's like the 10th highest paid QB but for Mahomes it's "oh he deserves more." Hurts has 2 fewer turnovers than Allen and is operating with AJ Brown, Davonta Smith, and an elite OL. Never a peep about him, either.

Reid says that penalty is usually handled with a warning to the coach. He says it has never been called on the field on any team he has ever coached in his entire career. Von Miller did the same thing on the very next play of the game and it wasn't called. Listen this stripped a career play from Kelce, changed the outcome of the game, and possibly the SB winner. I would say we do have a problem with officiating in these games. I think they are using the officiating to throttle down the Chief's dominance over the league. Officiating in the final plays of a game has cost the Chiefs 3 victories so far this season.

The problem with the "that one instance" argument being made to enhance Reids argument is bogus. This instance is in fact egregious and it came out before the play ever happened, so a ref can't be blamed for "waiting for the right moment" blatantly offsides is blatantly offsides. Toney NEVER looked to the side judge for verification of his alignment so why should the side judge be obligated to stop YOU from breaking the rules 🤔🤔🤔 props to Pat for owning it but Andy has no argument, egregious is egregious 🤷

Toney doesn't seem to be concerned or affected. If he was, we'd see improvement. I disagree with Andy Reid. You have a sideline full of coaches and players, players on the field with Toney, coaches in the booth, and yourself. How is it all of you missed Toney lining up off side multiple times in a game? Don't blame the officials. Blame yourself. You are the coach.
@sirchief785
@sirchief785 10 месяцев назад
We need to consider the fact that Toney is taught to line up this way. The Chiefs use a ton of gimmicks on the line that are technically illegal. A lot of pre-snap motions that don't get called. Jawaan Taylor lining up too far behind the center. Toney taking every inch he can at the line. Jawaan still lines up illegally and even did so during the Toney offsides play. It's week 13 and he is still lining up that way. The players are being told to line up this way from the coaches. It's why Reid doubled down in his presser and he nor Mahomes ever put any blame on Toney because they coached Toney to line up that way.

And we can't say "oh well. Call it more, that will be good for the game" when the issue is that Toney, and the chiefs wr room is severely undisciplined and not made to be accountable for their ineptitude this season so we're throwing up smokes and mirrors and redirecting the blame
