If I could, I would use a 5e3 Deluxe for damn near everything. My absolute favorite rig. If you can mic these things live, then you can.

Just bought one used but brand new basically for 1000 bucks. Good deal so nice. One of the best sounding amps I've ever played.

@TheMcFletcher Are we talking about the same Fender amp? They cost between $1700-1999 new. I Just checked. Maybe $1400-1500 mint.

@TheMcFletcher You had the good sense to get it while you could - perhaps some bleary eyed employee had a wild night and and mislabeled it - because Fender has less expensive tweed covered amps that look quite similar. ( Product codes...Product codes? "We don't need no stinkin' product codes!).

as much as eminence make great speakers, but it could really with a Jensen P12 Q alnico. I'm glad fender have brought the combo back, in head format, it isn't the same. it's the solid pine cabinet resonance that is part of the charm

Mine came with a Jensen alnico special design, not sure when the change happened.

Picked one up for $1250 used, great amp! Has a nice fat bridge PU tone that breaks up real nice around 1/2 volume. Surprisingly good bottom end for a 1 x 12 conbo

Can't wait till my guitar comes back from the tech shop - so I can try my new '57 Deluxe (Yeah, I own only one electric guitar currently). These guys sound great in this video.

I'm pretty critical of Fender,especially the design shortcomings of the blues jr and pro jr.This amp is overpriced imho but not by much.Fender seems to have gotten it really right with this one from the capacitors used to the custom designed alnico speaker.All the demos sound fantastic of it.

@@fender I believe in my heart of hearts anyone especially those starting if this is their first amp is the tweed deluxe they’ll be a lifetime player that never puts the instrument down. Others I recommend is the Caesar Diaz vibroverb and anything Brandon Montgomery makes “BLUDOTONE”

It’s just the three knobs and MAN it intimidates the cramp out of me. SO many different ways to set those knobs to get different tones, and they each seem to almost change function depending on how the others are set. It’s very very confusing to try and figure out how to dial in what you want.

It's made by a company called Original Fuzz. That model is the Cusco. The fabric is hand woven in Peru.

Fender finally got to beat the replica builders of his tweed circuits from the 50's, at least on this 5E3 effort. but at a 2k price range, I would expect a celestion gold speaker AT LEAST.

They are expensive, but sound so damn good. I was blown away when I got mine. Everything about it is great. I've owned and played A LOT of amps. This is one of the best. Can't say that I've played an original though

Looks like a cascade fathead ribbon mic. Very good pairing to a sm57 (mid focused and direct), ribbon (fat, full bodied)

Good observation! what is that tuning thing on the rear of the Tele? But no. I count 6 strings... ( My Tele has 5 strings - I kid you not - I don't use the high E string)

nop its alnico...and it sounds amazing... not like celestion blue w boosted highs...more like an alnico cream: warm mids towards flat response and very transparent ...I loved my 57 custom deluxe right out of the box..best investment I made in long time

It's a great amp but not for gigging. Just not enough wattage to be loud. 30 to 50 watt tube amp for gigging.

Well, Don Felder was playing stadium with an old Tweed Deluxe, same for The Edge, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Neil Young... Maybe you shall learn what is a Mic and a PA. Even saw a video on youtube of Clapton playing a Tweed Champ at an arena gig... If you want your audience to get deaf, crank a 50W Marshall at full volume in a club!
