I'm glad you finally got Snarl. I had no idea about the delays so I went and looked it up. Wow.... somehow mine arrived on time so I guess I just figured there was no issue. My nearest Walmart has them stocked currently so hopefully everyone that missed out or got shafted can get their hands on him now.

I'm glad to see that you finally got your figure. I do wish the feet were gold, but I am grateful all of Snarl's solar plates are gold. The weapon's tend to be what they had in the cartoon. I don't think the first three had swords. Snarl only had a sword, and i'm not sure what Swoop had, but I only remember him having his missiles.
I use the display for SS Hot Rod because I have him posing as he did in the iconic scene just before he arises into Rodimus. Great review brother! I finally hunted down this amazing figure. I ended up paying almost 40% more than MRSP but I didn’t want a Snarl-less Dinobot team.
Received this today after being unable to find it for over a year now. The transformation was quite a surprise and was enjoyable! All I need now is Swoop and I’ll have all 5. Also one name for the back fins is Dorsal fins.
Glad you got him! Our Walmart finally got him in last week after being clogged with Sludge and Coronation Starscream for about 6 months lol. I'm glad to have gotten him, especially after never having the g1 version as a kid nor any of my friends (my buddy had g2 Grimlock and I had g1 Sludge and flea market diaclone Slag). Closest I got was an iron-on patch of Snarl that was in some old coloring books we got from my neighbor. Honestly I think he's my favorite so far, looking forward to Swoop!
the gold plates are called bone plates that used to regulate the body temperature of the dinosaur and had the same function as the sails of a dimetrodon, but snarls gold plate stores and absorbs energy though.
Not sure where you ordered but just got mine today. Was weird I saw your thumbnail an started to wonder where mine was because it showed as shipped a week ago. Sitting out in the carport waiting for me, long story less longer. I need to get swoop now. Thanks for the video.
Just wanted to give you a heads up that in robot mode, Snarl's legs have a spot right above the knee to slide them out to the sides a little. I don't think the instructions show it, but it makes his stance look even better.
Awesomely done review. I must have really lucked out, Got my snarl from a buddy who did the preorder like you did but got it right away. He's my favorite Dinobot. There's one step in transformation that was missed, its not in the instructions either. For the knee's in bot mode if you put your thumb on the screw in the knee and your pointer finger on the outside of the leg and push together you'll get rid of that odd square above the knee joint.
Hey, just a heads up for anyone still hunting - there were a few of these on Amazon for $60 USD today, still a little over MSRP but not even by as much as shipping cost for a relatively big and heavy toy like this guy. I did the plastic addict "I really shouldn't, but..." thing again myself... 😜
For the would be customizers out there, all of the yellow parts can come off for painting. I took the pins for the robot feet out with needle nose pliars. I'm no master at painting, but I'm very happy with the results.
Your video has been quite helpful, the one with the black squares on his legs is quite easy to miss. I have to say, for me, 86 Snarl is the weakest Dinobot so far: 1. his head: even if done right with his legs he still has a clear split in his head. Even POTP Snarl didn't have that problem. 2. many Snarls, including mine, had or have one of the hind legs installed too far into his arm, which means that the leg cannot be pulled out. This can be solved with a Phillips screwdriver, but is it really necessary for a Leader class figure? 3. the tail. 4. the color differences between the golden yellow parts (dinosaur head, legs, etc.) and his tail are bothersome to me. One can paint over it, yes, but as I said, does it have to be on a leader? 5. the softer plastic bothers me in general. I'm constantly worried that it will eventually become porous or bend.
I really like the Robot modes on these 86 Dinobots but not a fan of the Dino mods. That tail on Snarl drives me crazy. Also those bloopers at the end 😂. The one where you hear Dad really got me because I know that feeling 🤣..
I thought you would feel the same way about Dino mode that I did. His ass sticks up in the air and tail is hidden between the legs. Other than that great bot mode, and another solid Ss86.
So what I'm hearing is... we need Snarl to be in the 40 year rebuild of Transformers: The Movie.... along with Shockwave, Dirge, Motormaster and a whole host of other missing G1 favorites.
4:00 I have noticed most videos have Snarl mistransformed in bot mode. His knees are on a sliding joint that move outwards so he doesn’t appear so knock-kneed. Then they slide back inward for alt mode.
Snarl feels like he has more presence than the other dinobots. the dino tail sucks. i do wish it hinged. also Gamestop still has Preorders for Swoop and has a release date of the 24th. you could still jump on that =). great video! love the bloopers =) till next time. Hooah!!!
Hey! Just wanted to let you know there’s some slider joints near the knees that clean up the look of the legs. I found out about it a few days ago and have had the figure for months now😂
I was in the same boat. I preordered mine and it kept getting pushed back. Yesterday my daughter had a softball game and on the way there, I stopped by a Target and they had one. Picked him up and cancelled the preorder.
Did Snarl ever use his gun in the cartoon? I vaguely remember him being the only member of the five who used a sword while the other four exclusively used guns. (Which may be their rationale for only doing one weapon a piece 🤔)

I'm surprised Snarl didn't disappear for the rest of the video after you showed the the box. I wonder if Hasbro will revisit these in the future in order to have them combine. The PotP version of Volcanicus was awful.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews It's like the animators forgot there were five Dinobots. Although it might've been funnier to review Inferno who was listed in the credits but never appears in the movie. Then review the ant version from Beast Wars.
