The "Bostonian" is Scott Zolak, former Pat's QB and host of Zolak and Bertrand on 98.5 the Sports Hub. That network is famous for slamming all the Boston teams. Forget the Celtics and Bruins...we know what sports radio will be focused on all day Monday
I remember when the era of Gil Santos and Gino Cappelletti era ended, wondering how could anyone else do the radio calls. They were amazing. I think Gil Santos is the Vin Scully of football announcers. The team had a great succession plan.
I had the exact same reaction. Funniest play in my 35+ years of watching football. I concluded that it doesn't really matter because this Patriots team is one and done at best, whether they won this game or not.
I'm a Raiders fan but the absolute best part of this game is Bill Belichick having the long walk across the field to have to shake hands with our coach and his ex offensive coordinator. Lmao
Same exact thing happened to me. I was going crazy in the car. To make matters worst, I had just gotten out of work and had turned the radio on right before the 4th and 10 play
LOL... Zolak sounds like he's taking his headset off and standing up, "guhbye, guhnight". I've learned that the only time my relatives from Boston are actually upset is when they STOP talking. Love the call.
Why does everyone think this was a once in a lifetime 'The Play' ? Dude literally threw the ball right to Chandler Jones 20 yards backwards. This is just too telling as far as a 'scripting' or WWE or 'rigged'. NFL is going to investigate and now we know that the Raiders are the 'Patriots JR' or subsidiary and Mark Davis did take orders from Robert Kraft & Jerry Jones to hire the HC, GM and back up QB. Las Vegas 'sharps' were adamant to take the RAIDERS straight up. The squares all went with N.E. and the 'books' have cleaned up. Nothing but heartache and corruption since the RAIDERS left Oakland. Insiders know that Mark Davis is a buffoon and puppet and is filled shame and guilt.
@@readyfortheworld9232 you're in denial. nobody is rigging games and going to say "hey how about you throw the ball 20 yards behind you to the other team"
Ah, this takes me back to a time before Belichick, before Parcells, to the good old Rod Rust Patriots. Keep up the good work, boys. We'll be there soon.
@@hrafn6588 Finally we beat you. first time since 1976 playoffs. we should have won in 2002 stupid referees can't get any call correct Woodson was better than tommy girl that day and every day . Go Raiders.
As a Pats fan, i just laughed my ass of in full pats gear. People thought i was on crazy pills as they know im a die hard fan. There was no other reaction but to laugh at the spectacle we've become
It's even funnier when you realize Jones spent half this play on the ground and literally only stood up seconds before the ball comes flying towards him.
I never like it when teams don't take risks, and would've rather lost it from a pick-6 rather than settle for overtime. One of my buddies texted me and told me "see what happens when you take risks?" I replied back: "That wasn't a risk; that was dumb."
I was watching, and at the first lateral was thinking : did he just do that? No... that would be so stupid right now... OOHH!!! He did it too, they could loose the ba..(ll) CHANDLER JONES caught it!!! WHAT A STIFF ARM to the QB no less. He is running... soo slow.... he gonna make it... TOUCHDOWN RAAIIDDEERRRSSSS!!! unbelievable they did that. As dumb as the stuff we been doing blowing all the leads we have. That was almost the 5th blown double digit lead we had.
😂😂😂 I’m a Patriots fan and I was in total disbelief. Screaming at my tv WTF ARE YOU DOING?! And then seeing Chandler Jones steamroll Mac Jones had me dying. I was cursing and laughing at the same time.
The player who missed the first tackle at the top right of the Raider logo painted on the field is the same player who intercepted the ball at the same spot he missed the tackle. He never moved and the ball made it all the way back to him.
This will go down as one of the greatest blunders in the history of all sports. It is right there with Willie Shoemaker pulling up early on Gallant Man in 1957 to lose the Kentucky Derby, Bill Buckner letting the ball get through his legs in the 1986 World Series, and Scott Hoch missing a 18 inch putt on the 72nd hole of the 1989 Masters, which cost him the tournament.
Love how McDaniels had more to say to Mac than he did Belicheck. Probably apologized to him for what Belicheck is doing to him and told him he should ask to be traded.
Yeah, gotta hate how Belichick is causing Mac to make poor decisions and bad throws. His amazing telekinetic powers shouldn't be used to destroy this kid's career.
Everyone says Zolak(the one who craps all over the team) is a homer. You should listen to him more often lol. When they suck... He will be sure to let you know.
The guy has been insufferable when they have been winning, homer as hell lol, being mad when they lose only re enforces that haha, not a Cowboys fan but live here and they have plenty of em, on the bright side I am a raiders fan so this was wonderful, hell the refs gifted ya the AFC champ game on the first SB win so burn in hell Pats and lose forever!
@@MediCali951 *Well,* IF IT COMES DOWN TO IT, WE HOLD THE FREAKING TIE-BREAKER OVER YOU…* *So don’t be surprised, if you lose 2 out of 3, and we take your spot, b!@%ch!!!!* 😆😆😆
I listen to them and turn the TV down, even if they aren't synched because as a Pats fan, I like the unvarnished color comments from Zolak. He knows the ins and outs of playing on the Pats and is no "homer", sucking up to the team. You get the real story, and his anguish is often our anguish. No happy talk, unless it's earned. Makes the best radio broadcast team in the NFL in my opinion.
@@stevencooke6451 Dawg they announce FOR THE PATRIOTS. And this is literally the farthest from being homers as they can be. There literally commenting about the whole play and tearing into their own play. What are you talking about.
Honestly (and I say this as a Pats hater lol) the Patriots have pretty solid commentators. Socci is great on play-by-play even when it goes the other way, and Zo just flips his shit.
I think the fault equally lies with Stevenson. Stevenson still had a chance to slip the guys near him and continue the run. Who knows what the f*** he was thinking. I don't think Jakobi ever expected to get that ball tossed to him, and was in a really bad spot when he caught it. That being said, TAKE THE TACKLE AND TAKE IT TO OT.
Equal fault? Impulsively lateraling the ball to a receiver three yards behind you who's trailing the play, and that receiver then throwing the ball 20 yards backwards to his QB, are not comparable decisions. Stevenson wasn't gonna score there, but in theory there was a chance Meyers could cut inside, avoid a couple defenders and house it, so he took a small risk in the moment and flipped Meyers the ball. What Meyers did with the ball afterward was utterly inexplicable.
6-8, most blown double digit leads in NFL history… “just win baby” no fan of either one of those teams should be even the least bit happy after that pathetic performance.. raiders got giifted that Cole incomplete pass in the end zone, coincidence that the bookies needed the raiders to get the W or they were gonna take a big hit? Js.. and man, I actually feel bad for NE fans for having to watch that offense represent a professional outfit cuz they are straight trash and embarrassing to a neutral fan watching so god knows how those poor fukka’s feel lol
I would love to be the first reporter to ask Belichik a question in the press conference. "So Bill, what do you think was the turning point in the game today"? 😂 "Where does this rank in terms of deflating losses...sorry...uh... deflating might not be the best choice of words..." 🤣
Why were they playing the lateral game to begin with? Tie game, stay down. If you're losing with no time left, yes. But not here. You have a 1% chance of making something good happen, and a 50% chance of this happening.
My sister is a Vikings fan and their Radio announcer Paul Allen gets excited and upset and I have seen a bunch of his emotional calls. So I think if Paul Allen was the Play-by-play announcer’s for the Patriots, he would’ve totally lost it.
Imagine if some team was ahead on a 4th down situation that decided to go for it instead of punting, tries to lateral to get the first down to end the game and run out the clock, but instead they throw it to the wrong team and the other team runs it back for a touchdown. That’s the only way it could get any dumber than what the Patriots did in a tie game.
@@elliottpierce9823 You are 100% correct. Chandler Jones pushed Mac Jones when Mac was heading down into the fetal position trying to avoid contact. What a disgraceful effort from Mac given how much was on the line.
Zolaks emotions always sum up what majority of the fans are thinking. But for him to call them dumb like that without even hesitating was fuckin hilarious 😂 😃
