Im not a big drinker and not into beer. Not a meat eater either. Enjoy walking everywhere. My favourite hotel does an excellent free breakfast. Often I'm not hungry at lunch, or find something discounted on Grab (lots of coupons) and simply get it delivered to the hotel. Street food or night market for dinner. Walk everywhere. Take the baht bus as a last resort! 7/11 drinks are cheap. Freelancers on thaifriendly charge around ¥1500 straight to your hotel. Sometimes I sit on the beach on Beach Road and enjoy a scotch and cola in the evening. The cocktails at Sailor Bar are so cheap too. Three drinks is a huge night for me. Im usually done after two! Biggest cost is always the company. I'm not keen on loud music and have never been to a gogo bar. They seem hugely expensive (especially the company). Not my scene. I prefer quiet beer bars and restaurants.
Night markets are fantastic. So many of them. I went to Runway almost every night (big aeroplane in the middle of it) a couple of months ago. Another night market outside outside Central Marina (halfway between Runway and T21) is excellent. Pad Thai for 80-100 Baht. Grab a papaya or mango smoothie for 50 Baht and walk back along Beach Road to my hotel! Ten Baht on the bus gets you from near Walking Street to Jomtien. Lots of night street markets on the beachfront with cheap food and drinks. Ten Baht back again. A really cheap night out. I don't mind 1500, 1600-odd a night for my hotel room. The budget rooms are false economy. Staying somewhere convenient saves you on taxi fees and general inconvenience/aggravation and makes the stay more enjoyable. I always get the 140 baht bus from BKK airport too. It's safe, cheap and convenient. Do that both ways and you can save the equivalent of a night's accommodation. Keep checking Agoda even after you've booked your room. Often it's advertised cheaper at a later date before you travel. Just cancel for free and re-book it. And check out the Serenotel rooftop bar on Beach Road at sunset. Cocktails are reasonably priced, seats are comfortable and view is great. There are so many Indian restaurants in Pattaya too. I recommend the "thali" tray of dishes for around 200 Baht (for the vegetarian option). You're unlikely to want much for dinner if you have this at around 2pm.
Good information, don't overspend on LD without getting laid at all especially in the gogo bars which are very expensive nowadays equivalent to U.S prices. As much as possible, eat local foods on the market instead of Western foods, I've been doing that for almost 2 years & it saved me a lot.
If you like drinking, there are many bars which offer happy hour prices until 8pm or 9pm, so you can have a couple (or more) early on before you go somewhere where the company available means the drinks will be more expensive. In some bars (Such as 'Time' and 'Barfine/Barcode' in LK Metro) drinks were cheap until midnight last HS - 50B/60B depending on the bottled beer. The girls can prove very friendly, too.
One more way to save is to find a massage girl to LT. paying her daily fee is way cheaper than bar girls. I think a lot guys overlook the massage shops because most of the ladies are older, but there are few gems out there. Some of the gogo girls (mid-twenties) who I spoke to use to work massage shops. The quality of talent is out there waiting to be found.
In Pattaya now always come November and this is the quietest Ive ever seen it (its also getting a lot more expensive so its putting people off you can only squeeze people so far no surprise really )
It’s simple Supply and Demand. Problem is, they keep raising their prices because there’s no customers. Plus there’s a cost-of-living crisis with inflation hurting people’s spending ability. If this high season turns out to be very short-lived or at worst a disaster, will they increase their prices even more? Or will the penny finally drop that the quickest way to get tourists back is to LOWER their prices. Be interesting to see how this plays out the next few weeks Daz…
Thanks Daz. Always good to think out-of-the box and not overspend, and still have a lot of fun. More eye candy in that Mall/Food court than in some bars🤣. Not having a pool is not a deal breaker for me. A clean and comfortable place to stay is what's important. If I buy a couple of beers during happy hour and they look at me funny I will mention "Daz sent me".😂
Ladies drinks can be the biggest cost for a man and if you get very drunk you spend alot more so don't get drunk every day and night you won't make bad decisions like ringing the bell learn to say no😂 !
I'm in Pattaya right now... The staff at the hotel I am staying at now mentioned that this is the worst non pandemic November High season start they can remember since the Great recession
The one I'm living in has been booked solid for November for weeks. It's across from Witherspoons I bet they have no December rooms. The spot I stay at in Hua Hin has around 16 rooms. She's booked through late December. The spot in Pattaya is eight stories, probably 80-108 rooms
When is the slowest season with the least amount of tourists/expats?? seems like good company! and everything else would be cheaper. I've never visited.. yet
I can only speak for people from the US. It’s so expensive now. Food , rent , utilities, everything. It doesn’t leave much, if anything left over for most to vacation, much less vacation over here. People are putting their groceries on credit cards these days. It’s not pretty.
I can confirm it’s not much better here in Australia, all our utilities keep going up by 20-30% per year or more, fuel prices are usually over $2 per litre for any variant and our Home loan interest rates keep rising, but the house prices are too, plus we have a big shortage of rental properties ( at least here in Sydney), $500-600 per week is almost non existent for a house to rent. So no Thailand for me since before the pandemic and who know if and when I could/will ever go again?
@@sickbuffalo9902 Wow, funny how all the first World Nations are fucking their Citizens!!! Not sure about house prices, I feel Sydney tops most, median house price just over $1.35 mil now! Rent in my suburb starts from $600 per week for a dump and $800 for liveable and I’m over an hour from our CBD!
If you want cheap food take a trip to the Night Market in jomtien. It has an illuminated Windmill at the front opens 5pm and is on the Bhat bus route. Excellent food at an excellent price
Plenty of bargains around in pattaya when it comes to everything including food, alcohol & women just got to shop around & stay away from walking street in general 😅
I'm in Pattaya now, must be 50% down, and empty restaurants everywhere. Don't want to say it, but without a miracle, this place will be hurt badly. Sad to see the high costs from home are killing everywhere.
As always, sound advice from ‘uncle Daz’. Let’s be realistic tho here guys - Pattaya is one of the last places you wanna be with insufficient funds! Sure, we all have different budgets, but you should at least have enough to enjoy yourself without have to worry about every 10 baht spent. Also, be fair and realistic here chaps - it’s not about trying to ‘out-smart’ the girls or any other services offered - but not to get ripped off either. YOU are on holiday - they are at work! Enjoy amazing Pattaya for all that it offers, and if you can find that magic word ‘balance’ - then everyone wins ……. Happiness 👍😃👌
I completely agree, I think it is much better to postpone your holidays some months until you have a comfortable budget than going there as soon as possible but short of funds.
True, but no harm in avoiding unnec expenses like BF & LDs and room fee by altering the way one gets their kicks below the waistline. EG: plenty of massage shops that have nice rooms and ladies without 400 baht room charge. Many times I have grabbed a couple of beers from 7/11 headed to a massage shop, enjoyed a happy ending whilst enjoying my cans of beer, . I finish off the evening with company in my room from TF 1500 baht for a 2 hour session. So I get two rumpty bumptiy sessions, for 2500 baht per day
Can eat western food cheap. Breakfast 99 baht KFC 109 fish and chips LK metro 130 baht donner 105 . Cheap Charlie bottle beer 49 . Zero bar on Buakow 50 baht . Bargains still to be had . Great video always enjoy.
Great as usual DAZ 👌👍 Your Channel always delivers very useful and informative Tips. I think is going to be very busy at Xmas and probably Chinese New Year. After the numbers will drop. So many bars are waiting for a long high season. Let’s hope is going to be a good one. Sad to see business struggling. I’II be in Pattaya in about 7 weeks so I’m really looking forward to have another BLAST 💥. Cheers DAZ . Keep safe Mate.
Things don't look too bright for this high season. I'm afraid a lot of bar owners are going to lose their shirts in the next three months. Way too many new bars and clubs and there is not enough expats to sustain them during the long harsh low season.
Good video Daz but for me I’m an o”l veteran so already know the score. But agree with you, those that believe this high season will be busy are fooling themselves IMO nothing really changed from low season far as I can see..
I got hammered last year for lady drinks expensive bar fines and double s t prices, got a girl stopping for 650 baht a day for 6 weeks this year, found her of thai cupid, i will not buy 1 lady drink this year, times are tough , we are in a recession here in uk , saving money is key now, great video
For breakfast I often just have a bag of peanuts from 7/11. Later, I used to eat a lot at 'Cheap Charlies' on Soi Buakhao and it is good stuff, also 'The Hideaway' grill. Both do cheap western food. The biggest saving is to avoid Walking street and be wary of all go-go bars. Never buy more than one lady drink. If you like her get on with it or walk away, but if you take your time.....they will get through three lady drinks in 20 minutes. You can get a meal at Cheap Charlies for one lady drink. Go figure.
When I was there in August of this year, I found a very good priced restaurant opposite the Bamboo bar just before walking street. Fantastic quality... alloy.
Daz , another very interesting vlog or video , I have stayed in view talay 6 for my last few visits to Pattaya , so I have eaten in central festival many times , great value food for most of the places , some can be pricey outside of the central area , personally I don’t drink until the evening so tend to miss the happy hours , but it’s good advice , if I drink in the happy hours , the night gets very expensive 5555, I can’t take to much beer , I haven’t been to a gogo for 15 years , I personally don’t;like them , just a rip off , especially now , daz , I came this time last year and spent 5 weeks in Thailand , it was excellent and I enjoyed it ,my first visit after COVID , this year I have given it a miss , the emirates flight from my local airport bhx is nearly 1000 pounds , my bills in the the U.K. have increased so much , I don’t have the spare cash to come , hopefully next year the flight prices will drop , I am seeing air china flights for next year back to pre COVID prices , so fingers crossed , so sorry to rant buddy , keep up you good work 🙏
A few times ive done this. When ive been in a beer bar and have got on well with a girl. Ive slipped her on the quiet my hotel card and said when the bar closes come to my hotel. Sometimes they say they cant but a lot have. Saves paying a bar fine
I don't really see a point in being cheap when you're on a short vacation. I never did. I'm there for charity. But that's me. T21 is nice with cheap food court.
awesome Daz as usual. The only thing I might add about beach road girls. When you are killing time chat up the pretty ones and take their LINE ID's. Every night walking from Central to Soi13/4 I may collect 4 or 5. After a few nights you will meet 1 or 2 pretty girls with great attitudes you click with. they are generally 1000B and will come to your hotel anytime they are awake. But Daz is right if you just grab one quickly it's wham bam
Daz, with your experience and what we can see on video, it does look quiet for the 2nd week of 'High Season'. I tend to feel after so many being stunned at the increase in prices on the company front last year, combined with air fares being around £1000 from Europe and peoples pockets being squeezed at home, there will be those who don't come this high season. However, I am. Life is too short!
I agree about the chemistry angle: Pattaya used to be so much more fun, so natural. Even if it wasn't in reality. As for the quality control in beer bars... I better not comment. Subtly narrated. Nick J
Hi Daz, I'm coming to Pattaya for the first time on Wednesday. Mate can I - bring prescriptions for medications from Australia and get them in Thailand, and are they cheaper? Brilliant channel amigo, appreciated.
Last time I was in Pattaya in 2018, I didn't pay a single bar fine.. I arranged for massage girls to come over to my hotel room for a personal massage.
Cheers for another great informative video. Compared to my trips in 2018 and 2019 in the low season which were much busier than what i have seen so far for this high season. I ate alot in what i think is called new plaza at mum and pop stalls were the food was cooked in front of me. I will not be going to that food court because sadly they have become cashless which i will not support for when cash is gone so is your privacy and freedom to be replaced with central bank control. Please people keep using cash.
Food courts are not cashless from the point that you buy a food card with cash which they load up to whatever value you think you will spend and if you dont spend it all they refund you your cash on the way out when you return the card.. You don't use a debit or credit card for this as they all take cash.
I want to give a little shout out to Chill Inn on Soi Buakhao. Prices around 100/200 baht but sooooo good food. Albanian sausages, all sorts of breakfast. Nice staff too. I think i spent 3/4th of my breakfast time there. So that's Chill Inn on Soi Buakhao, enjoy!
Another tip I've heard regards clothes, particularly, t-shirts, thinking about the climate. The idea is to buy them cheap when you get there, rather than in your own country.
Exactly. I don't buy clothes for a few months leading up to my trip. I don't have a haircut for 3 months before going either. 150 Baht in Pattaya Vs US$25 at home.
Pattaya is never busy full stop.every year ,its oh its gonna be a fantastic season blah blah blah, the fact is ,its past its golden years and they will never come back,
Great video Daz and very informative. I am coming in February, for two months, and will be on a bit of a budget, so this has been helpful. On a previous video you mentioned hotels that allow non guests to use their pools and gyms, I remember Vogue was one, did you come across many others?
Hi Daz, thanks for a great info video. Anyway I coming out in Dec/Jan and trying to find the video you made a few months back about the gym/fitness studio in Pratunmak.
Get a beer out of the fridge at Nikom court hotel bar 70bht a big bottle and why not buy your street food and bring it there to eat while supping your beer.Got some freelancers in there as well.
Hi Daz, I never thought I would be able to get a vacation but I’m able to have two weeks in Pattaya. I used Kayak for booking a good price flight and New Nikom Court on Lengkee seems to have good reviews and good location. My question is would $1500usd enough for a reasonable good time for two weeks by using your advice?? I can’t wait to get back!! Thanks for all the good information. 🙏
@@everythingPattaya Actually I’ll be there 12 days so somewhere between $1.5K and 2K would be better. Thanks for that. It’s been over 4 years so I’m watching your videos to relearn the rules.
Thanks Daz, I totally concur with your advice and tips. I am with you on the use of apps, I also prefer to chat with a girl and see if there is a connection. Massage girls can also be a good source of meeting girls and no expensive lady drinks. Big C on Pattaya Klang also has a nice food court. I'll definitely be trying a gents club on my next trip, cheers.
You create good and informative videos, Daz, but when I go on vacation, I expect a better experience than at home; otherwise, I might as well stay home. I take the time to carefully book a flight and hotel, as prices can vary significantly. This allowed me to secure a very favorable flight with FINNAIR. It's a Business Class Light ticket, meaning no checked baggage (which is fine for me since I'm only going for a week) and no access to the lounge (which I already receive due to my frequent flyer status). The total cost was 1,798 EUR for a round-trip flight in December of this year. Regarding my hotel, I paid less this year than last year: only 88 EUR per night, whereas I paid over 100 EUR per night last year, and the usual price is around 130 EUR per night. This illustrates that it can be worthwhile to take the time and keep a close eye on the prices of flights and hotels. This way, you don't have to compromise on luxury but can still save significantly.
@@alexk9295 It is absolutely not my intention to brag; I apologize if you perceive it that way. I was merely trying to convey that my vacation holds more value for me if it offers a more luxurious experience than my everyday surroundings at home. To clarify this point, I mentioned that I find it preferable to stay at home if my vacation is not an improvement over my usual situation. I save throughout the entire year so that I can enjoy one or more nice vacations regularly. I would like to shift the perspective and ask if you enjoy traveling halfway around the world only to stay in budget accommodations. The time when business class was exclusively for business travelers is long behind us. In Bangkok, there are numerous hotel rooms that cost ten times or more than what I can afford.
Sorry pal, but Central Plaza food court's are the last places id chose to eat. The pizza was 90 baht a stingy slice, which is over £2. I still eat at the Thai sit-down cafe's that feed you proper hot food, which is fresh and prepared before your eyes and very satisfying for 50-70 baht. There's a massage shop near Sutis court that charges 140 baht for 1hr Thai massage and drink in Soi Pothole or New Plaza as youve correctly stated.
I am going to Pattaya with my two sons. I am planning to stay for a month. Can you help me with information about condos? I see something about The Riveria. Thank you.
Done that Gogo bar happy hour many a time especially at the Windmill.A great warm up for the night, hence these happy hour prices have gone up in price now.
going down the cheap beer route just gets you the reputation of a cheap charlie and saves very little, over a 3 week period you may save £40 Plenty of good reasonable hotels in Pattaya to choose from, avoid December and prices are ok. The food courts do offer a saving though never found the food to be that great, real Thai food in a local restaurant is in my opinion the best option. For company one of the phone apps work well, avoid gogo bars for bar fine Use Bolt taxi at reasonable cost Some think it is expensive but if you are sensible, drink in moderation and leave the bell alone you can have a great time without going over the top
hi Daz , you're giving the correct indication, all the Retiring men eating in the food court in Central festival are comfortable Financially , the Thai that Occasionally eating there thay the ones that we're feeding tham by ST OR LT Resources 😀 , I strongly suggest if you can afford to pay close to a £ 1000 air ticket and then live like a poor man , my advice stay home , To summer rise ...if you cannot afford a holiday...and treatyourselfcompletely . stay home Thanks and please let me know what your thoughts 😊 Ronnie
I agree with you Ronnie. Simply delay your trip and save money for another couple of months. Or go in low season. Trying to go there on a tight budget wouldn't be much fun.
buy beer in bulk from the big supermarket bring a sixpack holder from home you can buy ice good fun to sit on the beach and have a few before you go out if you look there is a lot of good cheep food about dont eat weston food thai food is amazeing. smoke a bit of weed that will slow your drinking down in the bars and you still have a good time just watch what you spend
Thankyou for a good informative video again. My thoughts about why not so many tourist comming are high prices on flight tickets, bad exchange rate, and high inflation in the world. My country Sweden have very high inflation and this time I had to pay about 1300 euro only for flight ticket. I will come 1 dec and stay for 29 days😀
Daz, you are right all the way concerning lowering the costs.....concerning high season, I think it's gonna be packed for only one month....so the high season is gonna be very short.... Another high quality video made by an expert....thanks daz!
Thank u for the great information. Please if u know can u tell us all the gentlemen bar , regular bat and go go bar. That would help all of us a lot. Thank u
Thanks for a nice movie. But for those of us who do not speak English as a mother tongue, it is sometimes difficult to understand as the sound quality is poor. Could not see any prices on the food counters either, as the camera moved too quickly. IMPOSSIBLE to hear what the place with all the restaurants was called, or at what address it was located. Better to write a fact box after the end of the film so it is easy to find. Thanks in advance! / Leif Sweden
Hospital care is STILL a lot cheaper in Thailand than the U.S. People come here as medical tourists just because the cost is so cheep and the care is excellent. I know, I’m one of them.
@@JeddieTdefinitely. Even for countries with free medical care, anything considered non-urgent like joint replacements, dental, etc involves a lengthy waiting list. Thailand is often a great option.
@@JeddieT I found that dentists were slightly more expensive in Pattaya than private care in the UK. We can't get NHS dentists here in UK anymore because of the illegal immigration situation.
Thank you. One followup question please? Can you recommend any lodging citing the 1 month minimum/3 week actual with return of deposit scenario you discuss at minute 3?
If you want to save money on food go shopping at a super market. Buy bread, margarine, cereal, fruit and whatever you have for breakfast, lunch and dinner and keep it in your apartment. Much cheaper than eating out everyday. Most 7/11 have enough western food for sale to have a different meal 3 times a day for a month. Buy your water and alcohol at 7/11. They're everywhere.
Hate to say it, but, if airlines don't come down in price and Thailand doesn't stay cheap for tourists it will end up being a dying trade due to how far we have to travel. The way all of us back in the UK have had to pay crazy high inflation the pound should have been at least 70 baht to a pound but it's only gone up a few baht. At the moment it's an overpriced holiday.
Media in Australia are reporting huge numbers of wealthy Russians invading Phuket and other parts of Thailand, escaping the cold and oppressive regime so they may to some degree be propping up the low 'high season'. Thai Govt are also issuing 90 day visas to Russians to entice them . . .
Great video Daz. Coming to Pattaya for the first time next year. Is it best to get my currency in the UK or exchange whilst there. If so , best place to exchange.
It's worth exchanging £50 or so in the UK so you've got cash to get you started. I always seem to arrive in the evening. You'll want a few Baht to pay for food at the airport, the bus, and 7/11 snacks and drinks and perhaps a drink or two at the bar that evening. Hit the money exchange place at 10am the next morning. I always make sure I take a few thousand Baht cash out of Thailand with me in small notes for my next trip.
Hey man, what do you think about staying for two weeks in pattaya for first time? I was in bangkok in october for also two weeks, it was my first time in thailand and I am 26 and it was overwhelming for me for first week but I had a BLAST. Its not like I didn't like it or else but rather it was a bit tiring. I am planning a vacation to Pattaya in march for two weeks again. Do you think two weeks is enough?
At 26 you should be able to handle 2 weeks in Pattaya. Regarding tiring, whenever I used to come to Pattaya on 2 weeks vacation many years ago, when I went back home, I was shattered and needed to sleep for a week to recover. LOL TRUE !!!
@@everythingPattaya I have been traveling quite a lot but man bangkok was different. I was almost always sweaty, like dripping, and the heat made me lose some weight hahaha. I hope pattaya is laid back and chill in that sense, I liked bangkok a lot, but I got a feeling I am gonna fall in love with Pattaya. Cheers!!
That doesn't look any busier than it was when I was there in July and August, so that's not busy. Although some friends have told me that numbers are increasing in the bars in Tree Town.
Hey Daz! How different are you seeing this high season? I meant, you seeing the pricing be more like the low season or even less in the coming weeks as there is a large mismatch in demand & supply?
I see hotels booked but less guys in bars. Rhompo e g.is totally dead. The groups of visitors are changing. Many elderly couples now having a nice winter season here
Glad 2 hear U been comming to Thailand 4 20yrs & U prefer it how it was? U will be able 2 confirm how it changed practically over night in 1996,? It was like the Kng had told everyone 2 rip. Off the filangs. Sad that happened. They call it progress. Do U know where the term filang came from?--;----;--- Thailand was a closed country no ins or outs. King V [ 5 ] decided 2 open the country up to foreigners, namely the first were Finlanders. Filangs. God bless him.
I think that the correct word is "Farang". The "R" is usually pronounced as an "L" in Thai language. For example, they pronounce the word "road" as "load". Etc. Therefore, "Farang" has become "Falang". This word 'Farang' is also used in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other SE Asian countries. It means "White (European) foreigner".
For sure price gone up. Plan in advance we travel next Sunday airfare cost 547 from Manchester. Hotel price just gone up by 50 baht first increase in 5 year.. as for food and drink not much of an increase from last year. Other activities may have risen . But at the minute lots of empty bars .
