But it has another side of life. The Sanctuary of Truth. It is a museum that depicts the ancient Thai Culture and Philosophy. It describes the meaning of life, purpose of life and how we live. The Sanctuary represents the harmony between religions, philosophy and art.
The museum is created by Lek Viriyaphant, a Thai businessman and architect. He designed and built the structure as a tribute to ancient Thai architecture and culture. In fact it is a blend of architecture, philosophy, Hinduism and Buddhism. It stands 105 meters tall and constructed entirely from wood, without a single nail in it. Construction started in the year 1981 and still going on. It has intricate carvings ,sculptures stunning halls, cultural shows offering a glimpse into Thailand's rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions. It is built on a sea beach and has a breath taking view.
The museum has become an iconic structure of Thailand and attracts millions of tourists worldwide. Entry fee is 500 Baht which includes a free guided tour in several languages in batches. A must visit place in Pattaya.
