I happened to run into Tempus TV last night at the Rompho bar complex in Jomtien. Very nice guy. If you see him, don't be afraid to say hello. He's taller than he looks in the videos.
Probably a first time visitor will enjoy Pattaya and if you’re a long time visitor, digital nomad or retiree you’ll choose Jomtien Beach. But that’s still an individual decision. Jomtien Beach is much cleaner and better for swimming. It’s only a quick baht bus ride between the two. If you’ve never been to either you’ll find both enjoyable.
The beach in Jomtien is way better and it is not even close. It is cleaner, more places to lounge and swim. Pattaya is full of boats everywhere. I agree that the jet skis are a dangerous annoyance. Signage and roping should be better to avoid accidents. Whenever I go, I stay in Jomtien and if I want a night out a cheap Grab taxi takes you to Pattaya.
I really enjoyed how you went through things between both Pattaya and Jomtien. You were very good in every section that you covered. I am in that situation myself. I like both. I am trying to find a middle ground between both, where one starts and the other begins. lol
Best place I've found in Thailand after years of visiting jomtien is the best place to live it's beautiful place great vibes arrive in a few weeks time for 6 months can't wait
I'm pretty sure it's Soi 4? has a gym. Beach has aparatus for callisthenics. They also play beach volley ball every night. There are even stands for fans to sit on. Pretty cool.
Hi, starting to get hotter. Peak temperatures will be in April but, it will be dry and sunny, make sure you drink plenty of water and enjoy the experience 😉 😊
Tell me this? I’m looking for more facilities, good shops, restaurants, places to stay and I would also like to ask about Thai boxing gyms and if there are many in Pattaya itself rather than around the area
Thanks for the video!!! How long of a visa did you get when you first moved to Thailand? Why did you choose Pattaya? Did you make a friend pretty quickly to help you maneuver through the transition? Thanks!!
If you went to a different bar every night, you might cover Jomtien in about a year. If you tried the same in Pattaya you might make it by your 174th birthday.
Thanks for this video, I am planning my next trip to Thailand and I was wondering how Jontiem is like. I haven’t even able to find a good site where I can see the bath bus routes, is there one you can recommend ?
nice , how long does it take to set up a restaurant? happy for you mate and all the best , and if you drop the name i will pop in on my next vist for some food and drink
Start on your visa now. It will take months and many hurdles like finding a bank that will open an account for a foreigner. Expect besides the 850,000 baht a very high costs to get a one year visa and you must report to immigration every 90 days.
looking to come to pattaya, staying for about 4 weeks, would prefer a studio apartment with cooking possibility. looked at airbnb and agoda but prices seems to be almost 15-20k baht for 4 weeks, and those places doesnt seem very nice for that price. How are guesthouses compared to studios/condos when ur at a budget and want as good as you can get for your limited cash? Also is it better to book a couple nights, then look in person for better deals?
You are right the hotel and condo prices have gone through the roof, I'm going to Vietnam and Cambodia this year instead as pattaya is a expensive destination now
If I had to choose between Pattaya and Jomtien, I'd walk or run and let the next investor buy in as I'd be heading south to Hua Hin or other coastal cities south of Bankok as it would be a better area to invest for the long term especially if your own retirement is being considered.
even Baht Bus tried to rip me off late at night they know especially if you are with a lady tried to charge me 300 Baht - Taxi maybe 200 Baht but I never been to Jomtien yet
Do the Pattaya to Jomtien Baht Buses run all night or is there a time of the last Baht Bus please? And answer to this question would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hey thanks for sharing your videos and just was wondering I'm staying at a place called Nova Suites in Pattaya just wondering if you know anything about that hotel anyways I mean their October 30th maybe see you out there thanks again😊
What is the correct way to pronounce Pattaya? Because there's the way you say it stressing the middle syllable, and people who say you should stress the first syllable. As in, "I went to the store to shop for some outdoor Pattaya furniture."
I go back and forth between both. But if I've learned anything, it's not matter how you say it, some old angry expat will correct you haha. Never been corrected by any of my Thai friends
I’d like to see the land marks that show the difference between Jomtien and Pattaya. Where one starts and where one ends. With a quick view of what’s in between. Thanks
My own opinion, where Pattaya ends is at the top of the hill where it begins to go downhill to Jomtien. Its a long and gradual walk to the top and somewhat shorter descent to Jomtien Beach but there are few businesses on either side of the street going up or down although they tend to be bigger and newer businesses as you get closer to the beach in Jomtien. Its not a place I'd stay for much longer than a week as it gets old fast.
You don't. Unless you are doing a job that a Thai person can't do, you can't work in Thailand. If you have a degree + a qualification in teaching English as a foreign language, you can work but other than that, you only visit. If you are wealthy & can create a business then you need legal advice. Check out the visa situation for more information.
i traveled to thailand (pattaya) for 11yrs starting in 2009. lived in jomiten/pattaya also once i turned 50 with visa. bottom line jomiten is quieter. i have not been back since 2019. i doubt it has changed with that. in pattaya in the partz zone. my thought day or night. 10min ride bike/taxi and i am in the party zone of pattaya. ride back to tranquilty with my girl. the thai girls like it too. you do not "look" like a tourist even if you are there for say only a month. good video.
