spartalane13 not sure what you mean by “acute pneumonia.” If you mean acute lung injury, it is characterized by edema, fibrin, hayline membranes, and/or reactive pneumocytes. After a few days, these acute changes begin to organize into polyps of organizing fibroblastic tissue in the airspace, what we call OP. OP usually resolves, but may go on to fibrose, at which point we call it fibrosing OP. Let me know if you still have questions.
