You ABSOLUTELY need to vlog about the vintage pattern!!! The fabric you picked are so vintage Americana and I think you are genius for putting that together
I saw the navy and white Daisy patterned fabric that you got from Hobby lobby… I ran out and got some myself. I had to have it, It is so pretty!!! I can’t wait to see what you do with it 😊
Your hair looks pretty and cute and summery - it's fun to be able to change hair styles. All the fabrics and ideas are fun, too - I like to see the patterns other people pick and why - it often makes me reconsider ones I've passed by. Good luck with your sick sewing machine - I hate to even take mine in for service because I don't want to be without it! Can a sewing machine be a security thingy?!?
P.S. You can totally sew a vintage pattern - after all, lots of other people did it! And nowadays you can find all kinds of help online, which people couldn't do back then. Plus, if you can do alterations you can do this, too!
You're so lucky to find the fabric for the pants again. My heart broke when you said the Pietra pants got ruined in the wash. Also really had a giggle when you talked about gathering your thoughts and feelings about the faulty sewing machine 😂
We have similar proportions, so I LOVEEEEEE seeing finished patterns on you. I can’t wait to see more. Btw love your hair in curls AND braids! You look amazing either way!
The vintage repro patterns are pretty all over the map in regards to fit, they just aren’t very well reproduced. Stephanie Canada has videos comparing some of the repro’s to the originals, shes really good dissecting them! Gertie has a free picnic skirt and a paid crop that goes with it on her Patreon that is very similar to the pattern you picked up if it turns out the repro isn’t very good. Women with dark skin look stunning in red, seriously! Thank you for sharing!
Love your new hairstyle, it suits you well. I bought a secondhand sewing machine an old singer 15-91 I LOVE IT!! They are so sturdy and if you keep them cleaned and oiled they last and last! It doesn't have zigzag, or buttonhole BUT there are attachments that make it possible to do both and other things as well. Made between 1953 - 1955 they are 70 plus years old and still running strong. So if you want something strong to last and not supper expensive maybe try an old vintage sewing machine.
Yes to all projects but I say again to you: red is your color🎉. Don’t be afraid of vintage patterns, indeed they are different of modern patterns but they will teach you new skills and new ways to adjust the patterns. May be you can consider began to make a muslim test or with a very economical fabric. Indeed they are very different in how they adjust to a body. But we know you are a brave woman. We will see you conquer the land of vintage! 😊👍
I have a homemade light table that I used to use to trace patterns onto butcher paper. Then I’d label each piece with the date, patten, piece name & number, measurements and size then I store them in Manila envelopes.
Love your hair, it really suits you 🤗. Pattern selections as well as fabric are great. I made an oversized button up shirt with the blue and white stripe fabric. I really get great use wearing it opened and also buttoned. Loved the video. Get that sewing machine out and roll out those projects, I know they all will be great. Thanks for sharing. I’m waiting to see your makes.
Sewing machine accidents are always traumatic no matter what. And it’s normal to feel skittish. I used to switch to hand sewing completely back in the day when that happened.
Hello, my first comment. You are so much fun to watch and cute too. Like your pattern hauls which help me see patterns better, I probaby have turned the page in the pattern book before. Please,,, Keep sewing,,, get right back in your “ big girl panties” and sew! Take care, Nancy from Indiana.
Great haul and great ideas. Thanks for sharing. Maybe do one of those accessories or something else that’s small and easy to help you get back into the swing of things? 🤷🏾♀️ It can be tough, but it’ll get better 😊
I love the Pietra pants pattern. I have about 5 pairs of shorts using this pattern. I plan on making the pants this fall. Have you considered visibility mending your pants by embroidering over the stains. Some florals would be super cute.
Love the hair and your plans. That strawberry fabric is great. I’m sick of the whole “dress your age” idea. It’s fun, you love it, fantastic! Have you tried that dye removal product on your linen pants? I think it’s made by RIT.
Great haul! I have the 9818 and plan to make it out of a cherry 🍒 fabric! I really like s9550 it came out nice when I made it. Your skirt from 8927 is fabulous! Maybe I can make it when my stomach gets flatter. I picked up the simplicity pattern with the toat and hat. I didn’t get Duana’s pattern because of the back. I wish I had known about the shelf bra! 😩 You look amazing in gingham! Don’t be so hard on yourself ❤! The Butterick set with the play suit is going to be amazing!! I made a dress for Mother’s Day with the linen blend stripped fabric from Hobby Lobby. It’s fantastic and the stripes are vertical so you don’t have to worry so much about the matching. Yasss for the strawberry 🍓 fabric! I made a top out of it and I have five more yards with plans! Your hair is too cute! Sorry for the novel sized comment! 😂
LOL, we are always buying the same patterns and fabrics. I love it tho! S9818 in cherry fabric sounds so cute! I need to go and rewatch your videos with S9550. And I think you would look great in Duana's pattern!! Happy Sunday!! XO
I’m fairly new to your channel… do you have a fabric 101 video? I have similar proportions and I love to see a video on natural VS non natural and blend fabrics. But on a body like ours! Also I feel the same way about ginghams/plaids 😂
For this one - I believe it's a just a front and back pattern piece. I'll try the best that I can, but I'm not going to fuss over it like I would for pants or a jacket. :)
