Finally it is here! The second half of how I made the costume for the epic sci-fi larp Odysseus. No worries if you haven't watched the first part, they are pretty standalone, first part is making pattern for the top, this one is all about putting it together.
I don't think it has ever been this close with finishing a costume. Usually I do manage to finish them at home and I don't need to take the sewing supplies with me. Nonetheless I am super happy with it, as it resulted in a very comfy and cool looking scifi costume, that definitely fit the 19 year old popstar character I was going to be playing!

Yeah, instructions being nonsense is why I normally completely ignore them and do it up my own way. It's taken me a while to get to being able to do that, though.

Yup, figured I'd take a look at them again for this pattern, with the interesting pattern pieces around the waist. But eh, better figure it out myself again next time 😅

I really love that shirt, I think I've seen a pattern similar to it but seeing one made was cool! And yay, garden geeking!

Yay! Thank you! The top was an amazing thing to make, maybe because it comes with hardly any instructions to confuse you compared to the pants 😅. And I've already worn it a few times after the larp as well, it is a great outfit to wear when it is warm but you still wan to wear something costume.

The gardens looked lovely. Thank you for sharing them with us. I learn by doing, so most pattern instructions don't make sense to me. I hope you got it worked out to your satisfaction. The costume looks great, and i love the top.

Even thought he pattern for the pants was a struggle it did result in some very comfy costume pants! And looking back at the photos of the larp, I think the combo of the top and pants look really good together. I even think I look tall in some of the photos 😂

21:31 I paused to read the little placard you showed and imagine my surprise!! I was a student at UConn Storrs in 2016 and the greenhouses were my favorite place to unwind! It's so exciting to see where those seeds ended up and how they're doing, even with the mouse trouble. Thank you so much for sharing your botanical trip ❤

Eyup! Although it really does differ a lot per pattern company and sometimes even per pattern.

@@MarisArmoury it's extra fun when they mention some sort of measurement and when you do a word search in the pdf it's only vaguely explained 7 pages ahead And because it's the second version of the pattern you have to assume it's intentional (cough Xkilt cough)

For what it's worth with the lining of the pants, you did it perfectly correct with stitching it flat and attatching it to the seams. And really great job on the top :D It's a hard one to make, but you did excellent!! Oh, and nice plant trip :D

Thanks! Always good to have reassurance 😂. And the top was interesting, in the end it wasn't even that difficult to sew, and the pattern also came together surprisingly easily. 🌱💚
