The reason that PETA never got sued by nintendo is that the games they made were parodies and parodies are legally protected under freedom of expression. It would be illegal for nintendo to sue them.
@@commandixnostalgia2321 Most of those fangames either had a patreon or had ads on their website. I normally hate Nintendo but there is a difference between a passion project you create for free, and profiting from intellectual property.
@@DylanHabibiI’m not entirely sure of that? On the one hand the pokemon copyright is primarily Japanese but they do hold the copyright in the US as well. Since PETA is US based and in theory their infraction occurred in the US, then even if the original company is Japanese, they would likely still sue through the American legal system, I think?
Kanye Quest was never a cult recruitment tool. The game could never connect to the internet to send personal data and the cult isn’t even real. The cult was made up by the composer as a sort of alter ego they release their music as. If you want to know more The Game Theorists made a really good video on it.
You wanna hear a weird game? On steam there is a Furry Dating sim called “Furry Hitler.” Where you play as hitler and go through WW1 or WW2 dating your army members.
Eh. With all that horrible horrible stuff about school shooters and torture porn being made (which to a degree, i feel it's fair game even if i hate it) whyd you want to draw the line at fictional girls just cuz you don't dig that
@@animebro14 i mean, it doesn't really surprise me considering that's such a popular opinion to have on the internet, so like, whatever, nothing new to me... But the real kicker for me is acting like that's somehow worse than all the other shit, like- Taboo sex stuff should be completely banned and never allowed in fiction....... But violence is okay. Totally okay. Nothing wrong about a little bit of gore, it's just fiction after all, right? I really don't get it
That manhunt player was already insane, the game didn't make it happen, maybe it helped him go for it, but he was already insane no sane person would murder based on a fictional game.
Isnt there a game that you gotta let it play for WEEKS so that "story" actually progresses? Or certain events occurring? It's not even a live service one
According to Religion Wiki, Ascensionism apparently isn't a cult, and Kanye Quest wasn't actually made for Ascensionism. I mean, idk if they're reliable, but still.
@@toniuchi315 i just wanna know what's the appeal of shooting games,if i like the main character(s),that's good enough for me,but besides maybe the inklings and snake it doesn't seems like these characters have much of a personality
Illusion is shutting down and no longer selling all their non banned games. So r lay seems to have come back to haunt them even tho this is because their newer games are just remakes of their most popular games with no new content and flopped hard af lmao.
Their games didn't flop whatsoever hence why they were able to make so many games over the decades, also they aren't shutting down turns out they just rebranded themselves. New honey select is coming out soon.
@@RhySinn Their newest games definitely flopped money wise. Ive never seen a game get put on f9 faster than their newest game and then proceed to get trashed on by everyone. It has worse reviews than sunshine and that was just a re-release of the original game with some random stuff added. Good for them if they aren't shutting down but it doesn't change anything. People would rather play modded HS2 over everything else they've made.
@@alt666 Yeah they don't handle the modding scene well sadly, i always find it amusing r*peplay even got controversy since there are visual novels back then and now that are much worse lol.
@@RhySinn Not just visual novels but there are other genres of games, anime and manga with similar levels of illegal / disgusting stuff. Some recent "romance / comedy" anime had a scene in the first episode where the main male character got r'd by a group of dogs and they expect people to watch, enjoy and laugh at this shi. Its one reason why comedy anime is something i stay away from especially if its coming out of japan. Besides the "females beat up the male for stuff that isn't his fault" trope is too popular in anything comedy related over there. Not all of japan but definitely a big enough part of it is into some very crazy or straight up not ok stuff and they are very open about it.
I think all fiction is ok as long as it's not based on real people or real tragic events that actually happened or something, when people start saying "its the exact same as reality" or "illegal" it sounds really silly especially with violent games or absurd anime/hentai. Nothing wrong with calling it gross or degenerate though i can see that, anyway i'm going off on a tangent lol.
1:10:40 maybe reevaluate your personal biases. This is like the third time in the video you refer to the entirety of the American population as gun/knife crazy people wearing tinfoil hats. While doing a bad southern American accent. Not everyone who has a weapon wants to hurt you. Some of us just can't go in our back yards without animals trying to kill us.
Hey patt you should definitely watch more videos from wendigoon. As his videos are extremely interesting and informative like how a single spy may have been the deciding factor as to why the allies won the second world war and his conspiracy theory icebergs.
Why does everybody always gloss over the fact that in Night Trap you’re watching the slumber party to stop the vampires from killing the girls not to be a peeping Tom.
Does the character just know that vampires are going to attack the party, then? That's the only way I can think of where the character isn't a peeping tom, and even still, that looks kinda sus to me.
@@Rogeryoo In the game you’re part of what they call the Special Control Attack Team, and you’re tasked with watching over the slumber party so that when the vampires arrive you can activate the traps to protect the girls. The inappropriate nature of it is largely overblown, it’s old sitcom level of edgy. It was rereleased on switch and it only got a teen rating, people are way too quick to assume things.
@@williamhardee8863 the team really has the acronym S.C.A.T., huh? That's unfortunate if not intended. I didn't know that it was re-released on switch, though, much less a teen rating. Though I suppose a game that's not much more than home alone but with vampires and women isn't really mature content.
The reason that the creator of v-tech rampage was confident that they would get the donation money instead of newgrounds just removing the game is because newgrounds would pretty much let any thing be on there so removing the game would kinda be breaking their own rules. The story surrounding v-tech rampage and newgrounds is a pretty interesting one and the creator of the columbine massacre rpg responded to the v-tech creator expressing their distaste for the game.
Roly-Polys no Nanakorobiyaoki was actually lost media for a while until recently (2019 I'm reading). Though that game totally looks like something youtubers like Markiplier would reactions to. If you thought Super Columbine Massacre RPG was bad. That game almost got an award at a game festival from what I heard. Seriously.
Similar to Erevos: Boktai, a GBA game where the game's difficulty changes depending on the time of day and weather. It has a solar panel in every cartridge
Jail over making a game 😂 1:00:10, yeah its gross but it's just a game, there's so much more worse stuff out there you don't even know lol, freedom of expression ends when you actually hurt people then you need to he out away,
I couldn't believe I'm hearing that in the same video where he says people were crazy over accusing violent games being the cause of school shooters lol.
As far as depictions of r word go they difference in depicting that kind of crime is that, well viewing that acting can actually be a crime in any instance except seeing it be happenstance and reporting it. Where as witnessing a murder is never illegal, however you have a civic duty to report it of varying levels depending on the country. So my stance on this is you can acknowledge it happens in a piece of media but depicting the crime in action is fucking gross.
Also just as a point in the PETA section. But I’ve seen like an interview with a farmer. Just to actually produce fruits and vegetables they have to put on pesticides and other things on or around the plants that kill animals in order to have them shipped to people because there r animals that eat those fruits and vegetables as well
I can't believe I'm about to defend the 70 year old boomers here, but GTA is very much a game that is literally about committing crimes, often very violent ones. You fundamentally cannot complete even the tutorial section of the game without committing crimes like breaking and entering, theft, assault, or murder. Hell, the game is named after an actual crime people commit. It's not named "Peaceful City Life Simulation"
Never stopped me as a 13 year old playing San Andreas and Vice City. I've been a fan since I was a kid, and I'm sure many people are like that. Fuck that rating system 😂.
Sorry for replying to your 2 week old comment but I need to add to this. People need to understand that video games *can* influence people to do shitty things. I mean, where do people think the shitload of misogynistic children playing GTA come from?? I understand that parents need to be more responsible in what they let their children play but holy shit do people need to stop saying that GTA has no negative influence on children.
@@Karastial I'm pretty sure most people influenced like that were likely already going that way anyway probably due to their home life. I've been playing GTA games since the very first game back in the 90s and I can honestly say I don't have a drop of misogyny or a need/want to hurt people or even steal a car in me. Hell I'm not even sure where you're getting misogyny from when talking about GTA, there are many women in the games who are "respected criminals" from what I remember. Unless you're just talking about the prostitutes in the games? That's just the same as real life though, how many male prostitutes do you see stood on roadsides? Honestly if you worry about kids being influenced by media it's RU-vidrs, Instagrammers, Tiktokers, etc that are what you should really watch out for. Most people can differentiate between what is make believe (books, TV shows, films and games) and what is real life. Online influencers are real life though and they're the most dangerous people for poisoning the minds of the youth, like your Logan Pauls and Andrew Tates.
yeah, but the goal of the game is not to commit as many violent acts of murder as you possibly can, which is the idea people have of it. it’s not about the fact that you’re committing crimes to progress, that’s implied by the title alone, but about the idea that the goal of the game is to kill people. you’re working in a crime ring, of course you’re gonna commit crimes lmaoo but the types of crimes are less about overindulgence of violence and more glorifying and romanticizing a criminal lifestyle.
There was a Gameboy advance game called Boktai where your main characters weapon ammo uses sunlight, and the only way you regain ammo is to literally point the cartridge in sunlight.
Would be definitely interested in more of this style of content. Not necessarily how disturbing it is but the concept of starting at the tip of an iceberg and gradually escalating in scale is cool.
1:01:55 again the things that people create can be truly awful. But we don't ban law and order for depicting murder. I don't even watch that but the point is removing expression never ends well. And it should definitely should be more regulated. Such as actually enforcing age restrictions and such.
And because I'm sure this will get taken out of context, of course I don't support any of the actions depicted in these games. And I definitely think you can portray/reference that kind of subject matter more respectfully. In most cases of any kind of mature content I lean towards acknowledging something happens/exists without depicting it. Like how Netflix shows think every mature show needs sex. Yes I know it happens, no I don't want to watch Trevor Belmont getting it on.
Basically the discussion should be allowed, but content warnings and safeguards should be in place and enforced. Any depiction of crimes of violent or sexual nature should be 18-21+ depending on the countries laws. And it should actually be treated seriously.
I love it when I encounter yet another RU-vidr who has literally no idea wtf they're talking about when it comes to Christianity and God. You either have never read the bible/been to church or have only skimmed the general knowledge without actually understanding it. God doesn't just give you things, that's not how he operates.
you just made that up / remembered wrong about manhunt , it was easy to get in the uk , i have no idea why you think it was banned or not be able to be bought lmao?? i had it on release and even remember buying it a few months later in Spain when i was on holiday.
