The lady in the middle looks just like her wow that's amazing what I love about this song being live is lol it sounds more like a praise and worship song because it draws a lotta people in and the song ministers to the soul especially when she starts dancing in the rhythm of gospel music along with the singers and the musicians they understood the assignment the way she performed it she was able to make every example of why she's got a new attitude and the harmony is full put together I just loves me sum Patti LaBelle

It was probably due to her vocal performance. The production was pop but she went to church as usual and that probably didn’t mesh with the mainstream white audience completely. Explains why On My Own became her big #1 pop hit.
Patti's performances always make me so happy! In the mid 80s her voice was on fire! She had so many great songs during that era and she is always so fun to watch! A true showman and a joyous entertainer.
