The cast of A Different World recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the show. Patti played Kadeem Hardison mom Mrs. Wayne. If they do a reboot of the show. Praying she'll be apart of it. Also Whoopi played a professor @ Hillman in one episode.

One segment with Miss Patti is not enough! They need to do a whole show or two with her. She is phenomenal!😻

My pops was at the airport in Memphis, TN, and said Ms. Patti was walking through with another person but no entourage. He asked her to if he could call my mama and talk to her over the phone. He said with no hesitation she made the call out to my mama. Unfortunately, my mama was not there to answer the call and my pops was too star-struck to have her leave a voicemail. lol He said she was so nice and approachable. She has a wonderful spirit and you can tell.

Laura Nyro passed in 1997 and you could tell Miss Patti is still tore up about that - true friendship.

This has been my favorite Thanksgiving View Special ever. Ms.Patti LaBelle’s voice and songs were a part of super 1970s/1980s childhood and adolescence.. My sis and me have “our song”New Attitude We are a dancing family.Aunt Liz(always brings her pean pie and chocolate pecan pie ) my Uncle Bud would have my cousin put on Lady Marmalade,and we’d dance out on the patio in the backyard. Lloyd Price,,Elvis,and other musicians.My father grew up in St Pete Florida.He was born in 1938 ( Jim Crow South not good) and fortunate that St Pete and was more “ progressive “ than Clearwater ( mom’s side) A few black HS age students to high school students went to all white St.Pete HS instead of Gibbs HS.Evidently during the great migration, black people from Fla and Ga went to Harlem NYC. The teens up in NYC would be sent home to St Pete and live with grandparents to go to HS bc they were safer and better. Most went to Gibbs HS,the all black school.Many southern black teens from MS ,GA and all across Fla went to Gibbs.Dad’s friend ,John introduced him to Rhythm and Blues at the Manhattan Casino.They Lloyd Price,Ray Charles ,Noble Thin Man Watts,Etta James,BB King,,Etta James,and Fats Domino. We’d dance to Lloyd Price .Interesting Fact- James Meredith and Ray Charles and Angela Bassett went to Gibbs HS in St Pete. Looking forward to Patti LaBelle’s March show in StPete. Again,thanks for an uplifting thanksgiving show. Love to all from Clearwater,Fla.

Lord...I bet Ms.Patti has some secrets to tell on the Hollywood scene..back in the day. I know Ms.Patti and Whoopi definitely have some crazy stories to tell, as well. I just LOVE Patti LaBelle. I grew up in the 70s and 80s with her music 🎶 🎵. My mom was a huge fan as well. Mom would wake all 4 of us kids up on a Saturday morning...just blasting her music. Such awesome memories. This is the woman that many greats take their hat off too and is her idol. Talk about a REAL down to earth woman who happens to be one of the best artist in the world.
