Patti and Audra sing 'Happy Days' from the PBS/LC special 'Audra McDonald and Friends' from 2006. I don't think this version has been posted yet. I love when they sing song this together!

I love how this is their signature duet. Especially since they are so happy around each other, so they just want to make everybody else feel the same. Also, Patti's hair absolutely gorgeous in this, and I don't know why. Side note - Good job. I'm glad that you stood up to TLD/ FYL, now we can all put this too rest, and ignore them (not that we already haven't, but you know what I'm talking about). Also, I am genuinely happy for you, and let's hope this BS doesn't happen again or to somebody else.

I LOVE them singing this. I listen to it every once in awhile, because I can't get enough of them singing it. As for the other, thanks for that. She came at me on this video the day after it was posted, so I didn't even think anyone would see what she was doing and I didn't want to mention it anywhere. I'm hoping she's gotten it out of her system and will leave me alone now, except for probably continuing to mass-dislike videos, but I could care less about that. If a video gets a dislike or an account starts posting rude stuff, we just know it's her doing the same thing she always does. It's sad because I actually tried to invite her to come and play/post with us, thinking that saying she was welcome might get her to drop this and find a way back to making some friends again, but maybe too much had been said by then. Ah well... All we can do is hope she backs off and leaves us well enough alone. I'm doubtful, but remain hopeful. But, as always, I'm so grateful to have your support, Alaina. :-)

I am an über fan of both Diva’s yet, they once again, prove why almost nobody covers Barbra. It illustrates how difficult Barbra’s vocals really are and truly there was no one that could touch her especially at her peak 1965-1979! Truly a voice seemingly touched by the finger of god! Not only beautiful to listen to (timbre), smooth and clear (like buttah) but because of her freakish ability to sing through all three voices (chest, belt and head) she can tell a story through the song like no other. I I urge those who might think otherwise go now, rewatch the clip of the judy Garland show. She was just out of her teen’s, she was 20… when arguably the greatest female entertainer that has ever lived says, “You’re so good, I hate you!” You should also watch the clip that introduces Barbra she sings 2 songs and again, what an amazing LIVE performance. PS: REMEMBER, she had yet to star in Funny Girl on Broadway (let alone act on film).

Well yeh um, "One Voice" okay? Barbra and Judy are legendary and their version is untouchable. I don't think that Barbra's work in the original is difficult from a technical sense. Audra hits all the marks as Barbra did. However, the end result is entirely different. Goosebumps, chills, and reverence versus well that was cute Audra and Patty! But again "One Voice." And Ms. Garland was no slacker either! From a technical point of view, Audra's voice is more 'developed' in a classical sense, so my listening goals were to hear how she maintained in chest voice and how close she stayed in 'belt' rather than in head voice. Audra's version of Liza Minelli's "Sing Happy" is lacking in those departments in my opinion but in this video, I think she shimmers, in part because it has less range note-wise and is less demanding as a solo and I think she is trying to match Patty vocally. I am African-American and there is a fair amount of diva singing worship where I'm from but whenever Barbra Joan was on TV during what you called her "peak" my mother would often exclaim "My God! That Woman can SANG!" It was the sheer column of sound, accompanied by an ethereal presence, along with the idea that she wasn't just singing but living inside the song, and she allowed us to come to visit her in that world. It was an emotional experience. My mother's visceral reaction said it all to me. One Voice! I hear your points out on how young she was and how she had yet to work out some performance chops via "Funny Girl." I love that once the composer Jule Styne heard her sing at a club he instantly started writing all of the Fanny Brice songs for her, long before she was actually cast. So to say she inspires is to say the very least in my opinion. She sings on a level of genius. There is no other! Surprisingly I did like this version but it immediately made me wish to listen to the original. In the same way, I can eat restaurant Southern Style Soul Food, the original cooked by my Mama is the true comfort and satisfying real thing.
