Pattiyal is a 2006 Indian Tamil gangster film directed by Vishnuvardhan. The film tackles the issue of dons. It stars Arya, Bharath, Pooja Umashankar, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Cochin Haneefa and Santhana Bharathi in pivotal roles. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. This film, based on the 1999 Thai film Bangkok Dangerous, was released on 17 March 2006, becoming highly successful at the box office, while being critically acclaimed as well.

When i compare pattiyal with pudhupettai i would prefer Pattiyal. Pattiyal is a awesome movie. Bharath acting is marvelous far better than dhanush. That talk all about how selvaraghavan failed to make a movie.

Exactly I don’t know why a lot of people love pudhupettai so much , it’s such a bad movie , the only thing that was good about the movie was Yuvan and Dhanushs best acting skills . Dhanush should have acted in this movie instead

Could easily compare this film with Pudhupettai and both are amazing films in their own right. Both give the same message. But the touch where the tea kadai karan was the one that stabbed Bharath, was a good ending. Although this movie does lack the constant uneasiness Pudhupettai has throughout the film as Dhanush faces various enemies. Could anyone recommend me films that are just as good as this. Appreciate it! ☺️

Good film. But can't compare with Pudhupettai. In my opinion, Pudhupettai is an overall much better film but it's in a different realm entirely. This film is very much a commercial masala film with top notch performances, music and cinematography while Pudhupettai is much more of an epic crime saga with lots of experimentation and breaking of conventions. Loved Bharath's performance throughout. He should have received some awards for this, as well as Arya. The heroine's scenes were a little uncomfortable though since at the start they showed that Arya wasn't even interested in her and she was kind of just harrassing him. But overall, Vishnuvardhan made a good film. Could have been better with more unnecessary scenes and dialogues cut out but he definitely made the film more stylish and unique than the standard films coming out during the time.
