I look in detail at the Cadence 13 foot float Rod I’ve had around a year. I give all the details of the rod and have included a short video of me using the rod as well as some still photos showing the rod action with different weights attached.

I went for the 12ft #2 for commercials. Previously been using a Drennan Acolyte 11ft Carp Waggler, but I was struggling to get the distance with light wagglers, and the rod guides are a bit draggy. I prefer to use the Cadence now coupled with a Cadence CS5 4000 Reel. That bit of extra length and the alconite guides gets me out that bit further. The number 2 tip section is brilliant for 0.10 and 0.12mm hooklengths. Mainline is 0.14mm pole line. Middy Carp bomb waggler 2SSG. Recently fished it at Bells Mill casting to the island fishing single maggot, no shot down the line. It's a big chuck to the Island. Never fed a single maggot. Too far out to catapult maggots. I weighed in 82lb of Carp and Barbel. Best days waggler fishing I have ever had. The peg I fished is the most difficult place on the lake to reach the Island, and wouldn't you know it. That's where the Carp are holding up.

That's some cast to reach the island at bells Mill, presume you were fishing peg 5to8 area, that's a good endorsement of this rods capability and your casting ability.

@@davidwynn3658 Peg 5. No wind, so I was able to get a straight cast feathering the line to keep it all straight. I am back at Bells mill on 30th July. Have a contest on there. Hope I get that peg again. It's the most enjoyable days fishing i've ever had. Some other guys were chucking feeders to the island but could not get bites. It was clear the Carp were following the maggots down, but wouldn't feed off the bottom. Waggler was the only way to catch them.

Nice one Paul I have been considering getting one of these? I have been doing a bit of winter silvers waggler fishing and I feel like mine is too heavy, this could be just the ticket!

Maybe a video footage of you lifting the weight (meat cutter/can) with rod would help. Thanks :)

Very informative Paul keep them coming . Just one thing can you do one on the need for prescription glasses. sun glasses. varifocal glasses . Or putting sun glasses over the tip the prescription one it because ive had to get a pair . Because of the pole float ghosting and my age nobody likes talking about it what's your advise please.

I have similar issues. I wear bifocal glasses for fishing, I don’t wear glasses for everyday life, but have some for driving. I’ve tried varifocals but couldn’t get on with them. To deal with the sun when fishing I have a pair of ‘over’ sunglasses which fit over your prescription glasses I got from eBay 3 years ago for about £5! They have a dark brown tint (I recommend) which means they make floats more visible and there are some light conditions when the sun isn’t out and I’ll wear them to improve seeing the float. If you watch my video called 10 top tips, about 4 minutes 20 in I show and talk about them. Search ‘over sunglasses’ on eBay.
