Paul Anka appears on "I've Got a Secret" (December 26, 1966) with host Steve Allen and panelists Betsy Palmer, Bill Cullen, Bess Myerson, and Henry Morgan, and introduces a chorus of people chosen from the telephone book whose names sound out the lyrics to "The Twelve Days of Christmas."
IGAS used this stunt several times; it seemed to be a real crowd-pleaser. The first and best time was the 1963 "Inda Good Old Somerstein" show with Meredith Willson, but this one is pretty funny as well, both because of the creative use of names and because of the performances (I especially liked Ms. Goldring and Ms. Kallenberg).
The Meredith Willson appearance can be found posted in two parts:
Part 1: • Inda Good Old Somerste...
Part 2: • Inda Good Old Somerste...

I saw this clip when it originally aired in 1966 and remember laughing hysterically every time that Turtletaub got further and further off key! I've thought about it now and then over successive Christmas seasons. Thank God that someone had the foresight to preserve it! Great seeing the likes of Steve Allen, Henry Morgan and Bill Cullen again, as well. Pure genius!

A tip of the hat to "I've Got A Secret" for finding a way to make this song even more excruciating.

Gee that was so innovative. A bit of a change from the usual format of this show. Paul Anka always conducts himself in such a distinguished manner. Very classy , smooth and intelligent. It seems he was very well liked on these game shows. These are some of the traits of people born in the astrological sign of Leo. I think he was so sweet . t

Yes it's because he was born in a specific month, that's sensible.

I'm probably far angrier than I should be at Drummer for failing to say her own name 4 times.

The odd visual quality of this clip comes from a black and white kinescope of a color broadcast. It's clips like this that make me wish that Goodson-Todman had saved some of the color videotapes of "I've Got a Secret."

@cmccrzy Steve Allen (the host) was 6' 3" tall. Paul Anka (the singer) is 5'6".

@soulierinvestments Or of "What's My Line?" as well. I believe both those series were in color for their last season (1966-67) and in both cases the surviving episodes have that same odd visual quality.

There's another clip of this show where they found the right people so they could do Auld Lang Syne.

This game is very cute and funny and the presenter is really likeable! He makes me laugh when simulating to shave with the microphone. #LOL# Obviously, LOVELY PAUL ANKA!!!

CBS junked the color videotapes. Only black and white kinescopes exist.
