I really hope paul is happy living in KY with his partner, cooking, making zines, doing puzzles or whatever else he does with his time, but GOD do i miss him making music.
This song gives me chills every time I listen to it and I can't seem to stop pressing the play button again and again. My father continues to struggle with alcoholism and I had a close friend in Middle School who dropped out of school due to her drug addiction. I have always resolved to never drink or do drugs and people never seem to understand that. Paul understands and I thank him for making this beautiful song that says what I never could.
He's not saying anything about society's problems. He's talking about his own personal experiences. And he isn't attacking people who drink or do drugs, neither is he condoning it. He's simply saying how he feels and why he feels that way. You can't call this ignorant. In actual fact your comments are ignorant as your turning this into a political issue. How do you even know if this guy cares about politics or not and where he stands? It's not your place to make assumptions.
Let's say that a typical E major chord is written like this. 022100 Make sense? Good. He is basically playing four chords over and over and they aren't C's. They are variations on Emaj and Amaj. E - 076x00 E2 - 074x00 Amaj7 - 576x00 Amaj7/G# - 476x00 Those open strings on the bottom don't really need to be there but muting that G string is needed. Basically you play those four chords in that order while palm muting and you have this song.
This is such a cool video. It's not not like how you see all these shitty iPhone quality video. It's like watching a higher quality video from the 90's. Just people playing for other people. It's just really cool. I hope to be a part of something like that one day.
