I'm English to my boots, proud of it. I also love the ground I walk on every day. I hear what you say, and have been instilling my love of my native soil in my five grandchildren. I will to the day I die.
What beauty of music and images👌❗️ Full of stillness and harmony, a gift for the heart ♥👌❗️ Mr.Harris..Thank you thank you and see you soon, I congratulate you! You are also an artist! Your exhibitions are delicate, spicy, majestic and unique...I admire you a lot!☆☆☆☆☆❤👌☀️👏👍🌻👱♀️‼️
I thought English pastoral music was a thing of yesteryear! However, David you have introduced me to Paul Carr. I am enchanted by this piece and shall search out more of Carr's music. Great combination of music and images. Thank you David and especially Paul.
Lovely to see this again David, although I think now I wouldn’t have chosen a Hunt meeting for the 3rd movement - I’m not actually a supporter, but enjoy the splendour of the gathering, not the hunt; perhaps I’ll come up with a new 3rd movement?….
Hi Paul, nice to hear from you again. I wouldn't worry too much about the 3rd movement, it rounds the whole composition off nicely and fox hunting, whatever you think about it, is a very English activity and thus in keeping with the title of the piece. Like you, Oscar Wilde, and, I suspect, most people I'm agin it, but also like you, I remember going to a Boxing Day hunt meeting in Lewes when I was a youngster and finding it quite a spectacle. I recall the late comedian, Jimmy Edwards, was much in evidence. In common, I imagine, with the great majority of people who hear it I find your "Air for Strings" simply beautiful. Thankyou.
Beautiful evening music! Thankyou David for getting the mood exactly right again. So nostalgic, drawing me into memory and away from the difficulties of the day! Lesley xx
Thanks for your kind comment Lesley. I was brought up in a little village not far from Cuckmere Haven and have walked along the meanders and over the Seven Sisters many times. It's a lovely area. I hope you're keeping safe and well, best wishes, David.
Lovely, calming music and imagery - except that I too dislike the concept of glamourizing blood sports in the latter, agreeing strongly with the quote here from Oscar Wilde...
Hi, glad you enjoyed the video up to a point. If you read my introduction to the piece, underneath the video, you'll see I've quoted one of Oscar Wilde's rather apt witticisms on the subject.
